ZR1 wheels... how to make them fit

i want to get ZR1 wheels for my 89 iroc, but the smallest offset they make is 35mm and in order for it to fit correctly, the offset needs to be 0-10mm offset, or it will sit way to far in, ive seen zr1's on thirdgens, how do you guys make them fit? a spacer would help a little bit, but a 30mm spacers is just insane, the lugs wouldnt even go on.

awesome, so do you think i should go with 275/40/17 ? or would i be able to go any wider cuz the adapters will allow more? bcuz you gotta have the widest tire.

SLP makes a ZR1 rim that fits thirdgens without adapters. The only problem is the size, they are 17 x 8. Most people want the wider 9 or 9.5 rims.

275/40r17 will fit fine on all 4 corners, without rubbing. You can also run 285/40r17 in the rear without problems.

im not worried about the price of the adapters, i work for americas tire company, so i get a discount and them, im just worried if the 11's would fit in the back or not with the adapters

Could you put 17x11s in the rear? Sure. Should you? That's not as easy an answer. Its more expensive for one. Second, its a very tight fit, and requires extensive massaging of the rear wheelwells. Third, you'll need to replace most of the rear suspension. Stock parts are very flexible. Since clearances are so tight with 17x11s, any movement could be disastrous. Fourth, 275/40r17 tires are MUCH easier to come by than a 315/35r17 that you would put on a 17x11. One blowout and your screwed.

I vote for 17x9s all around.

BTW- dont cheap out on the adapters. They are not all created equal. As usual, you get what you pay for. I've heard stories of other brand adapters breaking. I bought mine from Skulte. I've had them nearly 3 years with no problems, and I've never heard a single complaint about them, anywhere.

Do you need spacers front and back or are they just for the front.

There is nothing wrong with the spacers I posted. There are machined billet aluminum just like skulte's. They are some beefy suckers I know that. He sells em like crazy on ebay. The guy lives like 20 mins from me. I am pretty sure he makes them himself. I checked up on them before I bought them and didnt see anything wrong with them at all. And you cant beat about $100 cheaper. Just my thoughts.

While all that may be true, I'd again like to state that Skulte's adapters have an excellent reputation, and have been proven time and time again. Those ebay units have not. Personally, I would not trust adapters that were that much cheaper. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.
