9 bolt rear axle parts

I'm desperate to find a 9 bolt rear axle carrier for my 88 camaro irocz. This car has all numbers matching and was custom made at the factory. All power, T-tops, 350 A/T. I've checked into this car and found that with the color and options there was only 1790 made that year, but when I found it had a Borg-Warner 9 bolt posi, then it went down to 700-900 made. I need a carrier to rebuild the rear axle either a 3.27 or a 3.45. I've already near completion of the interior and when done it will be a strong #2 car. Any idea where I can find this part?:hail:

I have-classifieds,salvage yards, NOS, nothing out there exists. Someone told me I should convert it to a 10 bolt chassis with drum brakes, but that would be non-posi and I really don't want to experience the spinout that I had with my 86 camaro where a tree jumped out in front of me.

I hear Randy's Ring and Pinion carries 9 bolt parts. I've got one needing a rebuild if you are interested.

But I don't think that car is that rare...there's 9 bolts all over the place...I have 3.

Its great to hear they aren't that rare. Maybe the mechanic working on mine (this is beyond my expertise being 5'2" and under 110 lbs) is trying to rip me out of this axle. Whats the difference as far as advantage between a 10 bolt and a 9 bolt. Is it just that the 10 bolt is easier to find? And how much should I expect to pay for a carrier for a posi 9 bolt?

another place that sells complete carriers with what ever gears you want is http://www.davenportmotorsports.com/store/index.asp
you will have to call them but they get the stuff from australia, where the axle is from. GM in northamerica hasent made parts for 10 years I hear. Aftermarket is the only way other than through davenport, they sell GM stuff from the aussies. $500 USD for comlete internals. $450 for used rebuilt.

Go to the Car & Truck Parts Section on Ebay and put in "1LE" in the search field. There is one on there right now. He has the carrier (posi) in one auction and the ring & Pinion in the other.

I have a 3.27 9 bolt for sale-complete rear w/o brakes for $350+shipping. It has the LCA relocation brackets welded onto it.

Hey Aperion. www.9bolt.com led me to diff solutions. They finally replied to my email with what sounded really good, but I'm having trouble getting a phone number out of them. Turns out to be unlisted. Hard to trust a place with no phone. I just want to call them up and see if its a right fit.

I've never dealt with them, I don't have a 9 bolt.

It has become impossible to get a hold of the guy at 9bolt.com. I sent him about 5 emails for over two weeks and never heard a word back from him.
