There is only one way to find out. Find a scale and weigh it. Truck gas stations seem to be popular if there isn't a track around.

You can also weigh your car at the dump, agricultural/harvest places.... I don't know what you have there but i live in rural Idaho so....

FWIW my 82 weighs in a 3140lbs, so there is no way yours weighs that i'd say atleast +300. I have stripped rear interior, nothing but and engine(Al intake, waterpump), alternator, and ps pump, fiberglass hood, no wiring, no A/c, heat....

we have the information here to find out what your car weighs with options, if I had enough brains to figure it out I'd try to make a cool little calculator where you could figure out your weight.

But I don't.

Does somebody... (yes, somebody do it, it'd be cool and you'd get a lot of recognition for it and be cool on TGO)

Mine is 3400 on the dot. No AIR, iron heads, a/c, hardtop, 700r4, 1/2 tank of gas. Hmmm, i could use some weight reduction but i don't think i'm willing to lose a lot of comforts.

Just a standard MFG weight for government offices to base tax & licence values. This is not the actual weight of your car with options.

my car weighs 3018 but it has lots of things removed. air, vents, front sway bar, sound deadner, rear seats, inner bumpers, inner fenders, wipers, pretty much anything not needed for a racecar. i still got iron heads and a steel hood though.

Dosen't anyone read the original Question???? He asked about the car weight on his Title and not what everyones car weighed. They all vary, due to options.

Sort of, he asked if his title weight was right, since we all can't weigh his car from here, we decided to list our weights and most of our sigs list our options, so they are good examples for comparison, which is about all we can do without actually weighing the car.

just remember that rotational weight is what really kills the speed. 100 lbs for .10 sec of total gvw. i'd like to figure out a calculation on rotational weight though as that's what really slows you down.

My Formula is 3340 with less than 1/2 of a tank and with GTA wheels.

Iron heads, AC, power everything.

Also no spoiler. I thought it was light until I read this thread.

i believe that 1lb of rotational weight is equal to 8lb of gross weight.

so if that where the case then on average going from 16-18's would slow your car by .5 without blinking.

Not sure about C5 wagon wheels.

OE ZR1s = 20.5lbs
OE SS 10-spokes = 22lbs
OE Z06 = 20lbs

All listed wheels 17x9.5. Add approximately 3lbs for 17x11. The only weight out of those three that is known for sure is the SS 10-spoke. I actually had a set and weighed them. The others are what are weights that are commonly referenced and believed to be true.

Replicas can vary depending on manufacturer so weigh them and find out.

Damn. Looking at all these weights makes me feel like mine's a pig. Mine's 3700 with me in it; I'm only 160. That's w/ spare, stock wheels, some misc tubular suspension pieces, steel hood, iron heads, etc.

It actually depends on the moment of inertia, or where the mass of the wheel is distributed. The farther out the mass is the greater effect it has in slowing the car's acceleration. Therefore the mass of the tire will have a greater effect than the mass of the wheel. Check out a pair of Mickey Thompson ET drags and you'll see the difference to a regular radial. Their launch traction isn't the only advantage!

BTW the 1 : 3lbs is probably a good estimate, but it will depend on the wheel.

dont forget drag brakes. lighter rotor, and billet hubs. MUCH less spinning mass.

i havent weighed JUST the brakes, but my aerospace brakes AND my spindle weigh less altogether than just all my stock brake hardware. :hail:
