Its that time!

Well, not quite, Jan/Feb. is when i will be able to do the purchasing.. But i would like to know what i am doing LONG before i replace my suspension..

Im planning on doing a good portion of my suspension from Spohn (adjustable panhard, tubular torque arm and such)

But i need to know if im going to run into major (not easily modified) problems with my tires if i use the Eibach Pro-kit

I just (like a half hour ago) purchased a set of 17x9.5 and 17x11 ZR-1 rims (front and rear, respectively). The tires i plan on using are the following:

Front: 245/45R17 - 9.6" section width, 9.1 tread with, and an overall height of 25.6" - same specs my IROC tires have, so there should be no problems
Rear: 275/40R17 - 11" section width, 10.4" tread width, and an overall height of 25.7" - basically about an inch wider or so than my stock IROC tires

I could bump up the size on all of the tires (255 on front and 285 on back) but i dont want to find out that i cant get them to fit but could if i had the smaller size. I also could go with 335/35R17 tires for the back (13.2" section width, 12.4" tread width..) but i would have to put bigger spacers on and wouldn't be able to get them tucked inside.. so i would have a good inch or so outside the lip..and that means ruined tires and i dont like the look anyway.

I know that i will have to 'massage' the rear inner fenders to make the 17x11's fit (it can be done , thank u LBSZ28BLOWN and others)..What i want to know is if i put the Pro-kit on my car, will i have to do much more (as in A LOT) of work on the inner fenders to get these tires their needed clearance? Or should i be fine? btw, i am also planning to use KyB Shocks and Struts.

If the consensous seems to be that i will have major issues getting these tires to clearance with the Pro-Kit, then what would be a good spring brand and what model do they offer that i should use for my application? (Keeping the rims and tires is more important than lowing my car an inch, but if i can have both, then sweet)

THANX a lot! I know this is kinda long, but i wanted be as thorough as i could..

I have no problems with my 17x9.5 wheels up front with the pro-kit and 275/40-17 tires

275 is too narrow for a 11" rim,, it would look horrible with no rubber stickin out at all.. i just put 295s on a 9.5" rim and 245.17s on a 8.5 and they look great.. you need to step up to a 315/35/17 and 275/40/17s on the front

a body shop would have all the stuff to roll your rear fenders without wreakin them... probably have to mod ur bump stops a bit too

..first of all, rims are bought
i might put 285/40R17 on there, but i need to check my clearance before i pick out tires

EDIT:: Sorry.. disregard the first thing i said, i thought u were telling me to get 9.5 in the back and 8.5 in the front or something like that.. sorry

I just dont wanna put too fat of tires on there and and not be able to make the clearancing work
(btw, the 275/40R17 are 11" wide overall, not tread)

on my car, i am running 36mm offset rear 11"wide tire - i am using an aluminum 1/2" spacer behind it.

I have a serious feeling that the distance between the fenderwells on the firebirds vs the camaro's is less on the firebirds as compared to the camaro's...

anyways, that half inch spacing gives me a pretty much flush fit... didnt have to do any fender lip rolling tho...
I know that LBSZ28BLOWN has fit 315/35R17 tires on his car.. but i have a 36mm offset, where he has a 50mm offset.. im just trying to do what is known to work...

If u could help me (I kinda get confused with the offset thing) figure out what i need to do.. then i will be glad to put 315/35 tires on the back.. i have sent a pm to fb305svs asking him if he did any massaging to the fenderwell or if he put the 11" wide tires on there so he wouldn't have too, or if maybe he meant 11" at the tread and not the overall... i really kinda need to get the rims and the spacers so i can see what kind of clearance i have (i am willing to work on the inner fenders and get them pushed back like LBSZ28BLOWN has....
Help?

wheel spacers and back spacing

Check out :

also check out the link in the thread to kulte's site. It has an excellent explanation how to figure your wheels backspacing and from there what adaptor thickness you would need.
