SFC = Harsh ride?
I know sub frame connectors tighten everything up, but, do they also result in a stiffer ride? I have an 86 Trans Am WS6 and I just bought an 89 IROC. Both have t-tops, 16in wheels same size tires, autos, lb9s. Pretty much identical. I'm the original owner of the TA and it has 98000 miles on it. The IROC has 129000. The only main difference is the TA has a strut tower brace, weld on sfc and KYB non abjustable struts and shocks. The TA is much tighter and also has a much stiffer ride. Any ideas? By the way I also used to have a 73 Z28 and after I removed the sfc I noticed the ride lost its harshness.

I drove my car into a shop, had them install the Alston subframe connectors and when I drove it home...no difference in harshness. It felt stiffer going over train tracks...but otherwise nothing noticeable.
I would guess the stiffness is due to the KYBs your TA had, and the stiffness to the strut tower brace. Maybe the IROC's struts are in need of replacement.

Mine had kybs on it before I did subframes. It was already a harsh ride.
the first 2 things on noticed after installing SFC's is that the doors closed easier, and going thru my storage unit lot I would occasioanly bark a tire afterwords because the body wasnt twisting to match the uneven payvement.
My GTP, I installed STBs, and it made it alot harsher.

I installed Spohn SFC's and the car handles and drives great. It's much quieter too. Less creaking and rattliing. SFC's are a great addition to any third gen.

the trans am with ws6 suspension is more harder than the camaro, I made the experiment by testing both.the trans am is less hard by installing coil springs of a normal suspension(not ws6) to him, tested him too!martin

yes it must be normal cause before I put my subframe conectors on even whith a fairly stout suspension it always seemed kinda cusioned but now it will beat you to death on rough roads.
