Is a Spohn DS loop gonna fit?

I'll be heading to the track within the next few weeks so I decided before I drive 45 minutes away it'd be a good idea to buy a driveshaft saftey loop incase I get teched (and to avoid killing myself due to my stock aluminum DS). First choice is obviously Spohn's since it doesn't involve drilling holes into the floor but I'm concerned my y-pipe is in the way. I haven't seen any installed pics of Spohn's loop but it appears to be pretty thick, think it'll get in the way? I really dont wanna spend $75 to find out its useless.

Thanks,
Chris

Is it a Mufflex "Y"? I have the same problem. Mine is worse, since I have a custom 3" driveshaft. I have that hex shaped lakewood safety loop, and since I installed the "Y", and the driveshaft, I cant get the loop on without interference. I had talked with Spohn, and they told me , none of their stuff works with the Mufflex "Y" pipe. I even modified the lower loop on mine to no avail....

Its not an actual Mufflex-Y but its pretty much a copy. In fact, its probably closer to the crossmember and body than Mufflex's. This really sucks I guess I'm going to have to get someone local to fab up one for me

Sorry for clicking and replying more than once...I would still call them anyway. The Mufflex "Y" seems to get in the way most of the time. I modified the lower bracket of the Lakewood F-Body bracket to make more room, and make the loop larger inside. Then I couldnt fit the "Y" pipe up, because the loop was down too far. Now that I am in the middle of an automatic conversion, I have to make the bracket the way it was originally. Even after modifying it, it still wouldnt work. But now the 700R4 sits in the tunnel more than the Tremec TKO did. Hopefully now with the new trans. and a 3" shaft it will work. Definatley call Spohn though, they might shed some light...

i am running 3" true duals and my pipes wrap around by the trans pan (like yours). when i installed the spohn adj torque arm i had to refab my driver side pipe to make it around the new trans crossmember.

There is no exhaust on the car in this pic, I have longtube headers with a custom Y pipe with no cat. When I tried to hook the exhaust back up, the loop was in the way where the Y joined together. I had to take it back off until I can change my set up, either have the Y come together farther back (the exhaust was already done before I got the loop) or run true duals. Other than that, the D.S. loop is very well made and easy to install.

I tried a new Lakewood loop, along with the old modified one. I can get the "Y" pipe up with the unmodified one, but, I dont think its a good idea to have my nice new 3" driveshaft contacting it when I hit a bump etc. Any ideas? My rear is a Ford 9" also, which kind of moves the shaft over a bit. Anyone have this problem, and how did you fix it? What loop are you using to fix it? I will continue using the Mufflex "Y" also. Thanks.
