K-Member/A-Arms recommendations
Soon I will be putting in an LT4 in my car (92 Camaro RS) and while I have the old motor out, I would like to put in a tubular k member and tubular A-arms.
I've seen a couple places to buy them, but what is the 'best' company to get them from. Here are the places I've seen:
Pa Racing
Pro Fab Racing
Also, is it worth it to get chromoly over mild steel? What's the weight difference?

Talked to BMR and they are supposed to come out with a k-memeber out the first of the next week. I would think BMR would be better then other two, as for the a-arms i wouldn't go with PA/pro-fab beause they dont look very strong. I would defintaly go with the Spohn becuase they look like a very good design.
P.S. - I went with the spohn a-arms and i am waiting for the bmr k-member so i can make my decision.

Dont know if it will come out monday but when i talked to them they said that are only waiting on one more thing and that it will be out the first of april(dont know if that means april first or the first part of april), but i would guess is would be around 350-500 dollar range.
hope that helps.

I put a Profab system on my car this winter. Looks strong enough for me. I had to nip a corner off the front mount of the k-member on the driver side because it was interfering with something on the frame but other than that it was an easy bolt in. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to go to the junkyard for some hardware. Factory k-members have 6 bolts holding them to the frame. 2 short ones and 4 long ones. The Profab k-member needs 6 short ones and doesn't come with any hardware. I just robbed the 4 other short bolts from some cars in the junkyard.
If my engine was normal, everything would have fit properly. I had to modify a header tube to wrap around part of the k-member on the passenger side. I could see where a redesign would have helped give more room for big headers like in my situation.

You prolly wont want rod ends if your going to drive this on the street, poly is a step up from the regular rubber bushings but for the a-arms you'll want to go with de-a-lum bushings.

I would have loved to have adjustable rod end a-arms for my race car. No chance of binding like from bushings. Downside is the additional cost plus the added cost of getting everything aligned.
I stuck with a poly bushing a-arm from profab.

I got a list of stuff to upgrade on my car this year, and the k-member/a-arms are on the list. However, I like turning and stopping power, so I'd like more info on why adj. rod ends are not so good for the street on the a-arms. I have an adjustable PHR, am gonna get a Torque Arm (with adjustable ends) so why not the a-arms. At the moment I have lakewood lower control arms, but I might upgrade that as well to adj. rod end ones.
Thanks guys.

So BMR might be making one eh?
Anyone know if Spohn is gonna make a Tubular K memeber? I really like the Arms but I heard of issues fitting them into other ppl's K members.

Spohn is supposed to come out with one but i dont think for a while. Talked to him the other day and told me that he's been really busy and it didnt sound like it would be out for a while. There has only been one fitment issue that i know of with the spohn arms and that was with a PA unit and i dont think it was becuase of his arms. It was because first the guy you installed them droped his car really low and second the LS1 mounts on the PA unit were kinda low i think compared to the regular SBC mounts. There have been a few guys running the PA k-member and spohn arms on this boared with no problems. Hope that helps.

P.S. - I would ago with BMR/Spohn over PA/Pro-fab anyday.
