Anyone got a lightly used set of stock tierods and/or balljoints?

Hey guys...I found out a lot of bad things about my camaro yesterday. So, as a result I am going to buy another one as soon as I get enough cash for a decent one. But until then, I need to keep this hunk of junk going...if someone has tie rods or balljoints i can get for cheap to put in this thing so I don't die while I am saving money, it would be appreciated. Lemme know. Thanks

I got a set of ball joints that have only 1,000-1,500 miles on them...I`ll have to press them out of the arms but you can have them for next to nothing if u need them

I really do not suggest putting used parts on for this... You can buy all new tierods and lower ball joints at Canadian tire for probably under $150 in total. I buy my stuff from local jobbers, Ball joints usually average from $15- 30. and Tierods from $25- $50. Go new, don't mess with used, it's not worth the trouble.

Yea alright..I had no idea they are that cheap. But if you going to have them mechanic installed, how much would you pay for complete balljoint/tie rod replacement? I heard as much as 400-600 Canadian dollars from someone. I am a rookie to this game still and I don't know better, but I am guessing that's probably not true now ...but thinking it could actually be that much is why is why I started this thread in the first place...

installing tie rods are usually not hard at all, and require few tools, and 1 tool you can "rent" from autozone.

Ball joints are for professionals, or heavly tool equipped and experienced person.

Then get an alignment.

I've called, but I cant remember the prices. Just start calling around to shops you trust.

When I called, I also was getting quotes for the a-arm being out of the car. Sounds like yours will still be in the car.

The lower Ball joints call for 1.5 hrs labour, so the average shop should be around $100 to R & R both ball joints. our shop is $70/hr, so it would cost $105 for labour only.

Alright, that is sounding a little better than what I heard..thanks guys. I am still getting over the shock of what I heard about my car..basically, shops I have taken it to before have stiffed me (didn't even do the work requested and charged for it) and/or charged too much. I felt very used when my new honest mechanic told me all the bad news...but I forgot to ask him about the ball joint/tie rods. My car has quite the list of things busted, such as a broken left engine mount, etc...to deal with. Oh and the fact that one of the shops broke off the contact points on one of the spark plug wires..so i was running on 5 cylinders for part of the time, six on others....I am pissed. I am trying to learn as much as I can as fast as I can, but until I do, even a car shop such as A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP (my mom was paying as a present and insisted it go there...), can screw me over if they want to. I am out to kick some ***. Thanks again.
