Motor Mounts

I ordered one of those package deals from summit with motor mounts and trans mount....well they are't too informative on there products before you buy them and i thought i had the right one, it got to my house and its the wrong one...i believe the trans mount is right, because it was for earlier chevy cars, but I think all the trans mounts are the same...by the way it is a energy suspension product with urethane material....then i looked at the motor mounts, and its just the half that mounts to the block, not even the part that fits inside the clamshell thing. You would think if its a kit, they would give you everything..but i guess not...and the mounts aren't even close to being the right ones...i emailed summit like 4 days ago, twice, still no response...if they don't respond by monday i'm gonna be forced into ordering anther set and dealing with this at another time, but i need to have motor mounts ASAP...so if you guys could, do me a favor and tell me exactly what I need...i was looking through jegs, couldn't find the right one...thunderracing doesn't have any..its redicoulous...i don't care if its solid mounts or urethane mounts, i just want something that will work better than stock...i'm having tons of troubles trying to find the right one...its a 86 camaro by the way, was a 305, has a 350 now...

so yours didnt come with the inserts(the part that is rubber on the stock ones)? when i went from 305 to 350, i ordered two of ENS-3-1116G from summit. i reused the actual metal bracket parts from the old engine. hope this helps...

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul....asp&x=38&y=14 heres the link..if that doesn't work, the part number is ENS-3-1120R ...i thought the same thing about reusing the stock ones that are connected to block..becasue that is a solid mount already, i don't understand why they would even make something different to mount to the block...so you think if i just ordered 2 of those inserts i'd be good? but its a package, should i just send the whole package back or do you think they will just exchange the mounts and let me keep the trans mount...because the trans mount should be alright, right?

The kit you've got are early style mounts. GM used those before they changed over to the clamshell mounts.

so what should I do? just use the stock motor part, then get the inserts that fit inside the clamshell, P/N ENS-3-1116G?? you think summit will take the other motor mounts back without the trans mount...the trans mount should still fit right...

If it's a kit and you split it up, I doubt they're going to take it back. Try to see if they'll take your kit back, you might have to pay a restocking fee. rsn932 gave you the P/Ns for the right mounts, order one of those and a new transmission mount.

I thought they were sold in pairs, but I could be wrong. Check out the online catalog at http://www.energysuspension.com.

I bought prothane ones. They come with 2 motor mounts and are still cheaper than the energy suspension.

I'd just return your kit to summit and order the trans mount and motor mounts seperate. I was gonna buy the prothane kit but it would have taken a week for summit to get it. So i said screw it and order them seperately, it was only $2-3 more so.

They are Polyurethane. The tranny mount looks awesome. The motor mounts have two piece of thick sheet metal in them to make the hole. So the hole is not perfectly round but 2 U's put together. I'm not sure how the ES ones are.
