I finally got it so I can raise my A-arm and seat my spring in....ok thats taken care of. When I went to install my new bilsteing strut....I got it connected to the knuckle and it's installed.....how come half of my spring is not touching the A-arm??? I know the Eibachs are a smaller spring but is it supposed to be like this? The end of the coil thats in between the two drain holes is touching, but not the half that's closer to the outside of the car.....I dont think it's under much compression if any....but is this supposed to be correct? If not, wtf?...I dont want to let my jack out for fear of the spring shooting off

is the spring sitting in the top pearch correct? i had one of mine bind up top and it did some weird looking crap like that.
if thats fine and you have the strut tight and all your other front end parts are on and tight it won;t come out. no way no how. just check that top and make sue you inbetween the holes on the bottom if its there then you are good to go. the spring will come off the lower like you described as it coils up. there is a lot of strength in those lowering spring beefy.

k I think everything was correct then.....just seemed odd that with it down like that, part of the spring wouldnt be resting on the a-arm....but then again, they are really short......stupid front suspension

well now I cant get anything to work....I seriously dont think it's this complicated....but you know how you ahve to angle the spring in order to get it to seat the bottom coil correctly into the a-arm? Well when I start to jack the a-arm up the spring will be at an angle....how am I supposed to get the spring to jack up straight, or will it eventually pop itself into place (it doenst look like it will though.
I drew a terrible picture to illustrate what I mean (I couldnt get an accurate digi of the problem). The red is the spring, and the picture is how my spring sits as soon as I apply enough lift on the a-arm to ahve the spring seat in the correct position over the drain holes (I cant get it in this position without dropping the a-arm as low as possible and 'twisting the coil in that position'). So how do I make the spring go in straight? I was told that to re-install it isnt necessary to compress the spring.....Im getting beyond sick of this please help

I'm not able to understand what that picture means, but from what I can read it sounds like you're uneasy about the contact of the spring to the a-arm when reinstalling the spring. Whenever you completely unload either the front or the rear (as in body on jackstands and front or rear wheels hanging in the air) the spring will not sit perfectly in the pocket. The bottom support will be angled and it will not be a perfect contact with the spring. As you compress the A-Arm or rearend back up (so body still on jackstands, floorjack under a-arm/rearend jacking it up) it will move back into the right spot and the spring will be able to sit properly. Make sure the springs are indexed properly and the isolators are on properly, get that jack under the a-arm and slowly lift it. Right before the spring starts to make contact and compress you want to position it properly. Because it wont be a perfect level contact, you have to think about how it will sit when loaded. For the front springs you'd want good contact on the part of the pocket closest to the k-member. For the rearend you want good contact on the part of the pocket closest to the front of the car. As you jack it up you'll see the bottom will start to level out and give it a good full contact.

thats exactly what I needed to hear!....also I finally found some other threads that could help me out, and from the pic (my problem) was that I was placing the bottom of the spring in the a-arm first, and trying to seat it straight and level up top.....wasnt gonna happen because it was at an angle. I read that it's actually better to seat the top in first, and when you bring the a-arm to the bottom...to take a hammer (rubber mallet) whatever, to force it into position......too late tonite but Ill try her again tomorrow.....still wishin it was as easy as the 10 mins I spent on the rear
