Alignment recomendations?
Car is going back to the alignment shop(i know the guy, gives me a good dea, free) and last time it was in there he had an appointment and the camber was left a bit too strong, so its gonna go back to get that corrected, what im wondering is what would you guys recomend for specs to get a good handling, yet easy to control car that goes straight?
Here is what the specs are at right now.
Left front:
Camber -0.1
Caster 5.5
Toe 0.00
Right Front
Camber +0.6
Caster 5.5
Toe -0.02
Total Front
Cross Camber -0.5
Cross Caster +0.1
Total toe -0.02
Set Back +0.69
Left Rear
Camber -0.3
Toe -0.09
Right Rear
Camber -0.5
Toe -0.02
Total Rear
Toe -0.12
Thrust Angle -0.07
So what do you alignment guru's recomend? These settings were without someone in the drivers seat.

When I got my alignment done I was more conserned about getting the toe set back up properly.
My rear end is only out about .5* but the front toe compensates for it so the car goes straight.
I tried to get zero camber but my front end is too reactive. I can pull the front end up and it will stay there because of the drag struts. We got it as close to zero as possible.
I wanted as much caster as possible since I'm only interested in straight line performance. I wanted 10* if I could but could only get 4.5* on both sides.
The car goes straight down the track once I get my launch straightened out.
From your numbers, I get that right camber closer to zero but it's already within the tolerance specs.

Seems like you need more negative camber to me. Caster looks good though.
I'd shoot for -1* on both sides, but that might just a tad hard on the inside edges of the tires. -.75* like blyth mentioned would probably be a little better for a daily driver.

speaking of alignment....is it ok if i go with the following settings for a stock suspension on my camaro?...I'm looking for a little better stability for higher speeds so i thought 5+ caster might help...any suggestions?
Camber - 1/2
Caster + 5
Toe 0

In my above recommendation +5 degrees caster is what i recommended..I believe the .5 on the one side is suggested to the crown in the roads.

any other suggestions?...is +5 caster too much for a near stock car?....any potential problems?...would i be safer going with +4 caster?...I'm looking for a good strait line performance setting...something that will make my car nice and steady at higher speeds...

Any reason why i could only go to -.20 on my camber on my drivers side?

i use a hunter alignment machine at the shop i work at i looked up the stock spec's on the camaro and no year model 82-92 had a negative camber seting from the factory with 86 and eairlier having +1 degree and 87 later having +.3. caster was about 3.0 degree on 86 and eairlier model while 87 and up were 4.7-4.8 degree. what is the diffeance between the 86 and eairlier suspension and the 87 and later suspension? i recently purchased a 85 z/28 and i will align it soon i was wanting to know why everyone is suggesting negative camber and why the stock camber/caster settings are different for 86 eairlier models?

negative camber is better for stability in high speed turns.
Personally, I think positive camber is stupid on a 3rdgen, i believe it's more making turning easier, but I'm not too sure on that.
I haven't gotten the chance to really mess around with my camaro, it's just sitting, but I've got access to an alignment rack and have gotten every little setting in my honda just the way I want it on the toe.
Nice part is my job is looking at putting me as a service writer=$$$$ so I'll be really able to enjoy being 20 years old and living with my parents.
