Problem Spohn A arms
I have just installed Spohn's A arm with spring box. I kept the original RS springs to keep ride height and a softer ride. Here's the problem the a arms dropped the nose about 3" now I scrape on all drive way aprons. At speed if I hit a dip in the road the bottom slams down on it leaving a shower of sparks. The wheels now hit the inner wheel wells on a turn. The car is pretty much useless this way! I sent Steve an angry E mail If I knew that it lowers the car I wouldn't have bought them. He answered quickly but was no real help. He claimed others have not had this problem.
He suggested those poly spring top covers. Not a good idea it raises spring away from top pocket.
Here's the question.... Do I go for new springs ? And which ones ? Do I junk the $400 A arms? Does anybody make a rubber spacer to put between the coils? Any ideas?

Ok I got those rubber spring helpers. They did the trick. Height is returned and the ride stayed smooth. This isn't a long term answer but will do nicely for now. Maybe new springs this winter When it comes off the road for the season.

I have been thinking about my spring problem. Maybe the use of the spring compresser on the old springs did them in?

Those A-arms look great on your car! Unfortunately, I won't buy myself a set until Spohn eventually brings out a tubular K-member.
Are you sure the springs were indexed correctly when you had the stock A-arms? If I were you I would consider taking out the springs and measuring their length when they are not loaded and comparing it to the 'normal' stock length. Could they just be really old and sagging?

They were and are now indexed correctly. When you see the design of the pocket it's more or less impossible to get them wrong. when indexed wrong the weight is on the tip of the spring making it too high. I would have done this to get the height but it will also cause the spring to fail.
This job was a real PIA and I'm not looking foward to taking it all apart again. When I do I will just replace them with new springs
