Adjustable suspension ???

Can anyone shed any light on if adjustable rear suspension.
My firebird has what looks like a tire valve located in the rear of the boot and would like to know if this is standard????.Also what pressure it would take due to the writing that is on the cap has worn away

The factory rear suspensions on these cars were non adjustable. The only way to tinker with position is by implementing a variety of adjustable parts. I am not sure what "valve" you are refering to back there. You can only fill up the tires back there.

I would image you are looking at a zirk fitting (for greasing, not air). Can you take a picture of it?

The valve that is in the boot is located on the inside level with the lock.If you trace the cable that is connected to the valve it goes somewhere near the rear axles / struts. It isnt anything to do with the tires but has a tire valve.Apparently the prvious owner said that it was for adjusting the rear suspension height.

Could be air shocks.

Sounds like you have/had an air bag(s) installed in the rear springs. Put some air in and see what happens. The air bags shouldn't hold more than about 25 psi.
