Why not go with the subframe connectors EVERYONE uses on here? You know they work, you know ANY issues they may have...and plus you know the bottom dollar price

good news forshock!
what parts are you using?
the only part of the connectors that give me second thoughts are the two pieces of boxed tubing welded top to botom, looks like a breaking point if the welds arent absolutely perfect?

I have the panhard bar, and getting the LCA soon
Im not welding/fab expert, but that should hold if done correctly. Also if it is welded along the seams on the car, its would most likely improve it .

they look a little cobbled together to me, also too bulky. They may cause ground clearance issues. Not that they aren't worth 200 bucks but in this case there nothing more than strait box tubing. I have spohn tubular, proven design that tucks up nicely. I would buy spohn again gladly!

Ground clearance is a non issue. The side of the car has a lip, for the jack and seams. The rails should fint along the side of the edge. And that is not the lowest part of the undercarriage either.

i think these look alot stroger tha spohns in my opinions and i can always reinforce the welds heres my camparision lay a pice of round tubimg accross some bricks or something jump on it watch it flex now do it with square tubing watch nothing happen im sure spohns wouldnt flex much but to me i think these would be stronger

If you want to loose ground clearance, install alstons
(i have some) but they are no lower than my current exhaust.
I dont see these having any bad problems.

PS:
Ground clearance IS an issue even if some part of your car is lower, These become an inflexible part of you chassis and if they rub they won't give. The Spohns tuck up behind the pinch weld and aren't really visible.

UMI came out with those earlier this year. See this thread, https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=303568.
The design reminds me of Spohn's early square tubing one.
They finally added some installation pictures on their website, http://www.umiperformance.com/2400.aspx. Of course they promised installed pictures months ago.
According to Ryan at UMI, their SFC's weigh in at 34.5 lbs. Spohns weigh about 26 lbs. if I remember correctly.
In the spring, I'm going with Spohn's version so I can stitch-weld them along their length.
Edit: Fixed link.

UMI is a great brand IMO I've met several people from the company at the Trans Am Nationals. And seen alot of their products in action. I've talked to them a couple times about making a decoupled torque arm that mounts to the crossmember like they have for the 4th gen cars. And so far it looks like a go. Anyway about the SFC's they are very similiar to Spohn's boxed SFC's but Unless UMI goes with tubular sfc's I'm going with spohn.

Well i think the bottom line on this comes down to opinion my only question is are you ever going to see or feel the difference between a tubular or square subframe because to me having a big square jacking rail hanging down on the side of my car is almost an attractive prospect (I hate jacking my car up)

actually i doubt you'd feel a difference. But since I already have a set of Alston's I might as well get the others tubular also. Plus the tubular ones are 9lbs lighter. IMO the boxed ones would probably be stronger. I guess when I'm ready for them the price will determine it all. That and UMI is one of my local F-Body board sponsors so we get discounts on occassion.

I don't know where else to find them other than Top-Down solutions one of the board sponsors. here's a direct link to the Alston SFC's I got mine with a car I bought for $150 so I got a damn good deal.

You probably want to look at this page, http://www.alstonracing.com/pdf_catalog/35_gm.pdf.
87CIZ, when TDS started selling Alston's SFC's, Lon was selling them in a Group Purchase for about $150.
