Need help to Lower Ride!!!!

Hi I have a 85 RS Camaro and it has basically stock everything. I need to know how many inches the original springs are and what size of springs should I get to lower the car? Any Ideas ? I would really appreciate help on this.

Hey, im new around here, but my camaro is lowered. It's a 1989 RS Camaro. It matters if you have a V8 or V6 too, just so ya know. But get the eibach sportline's that's what i used. Lowered it about 1.8 inches all the way around. But I also replaced my shocks and struts at the same time when I did it. I replaced them with KYB, non-adjustable. I've been happy ever since, my car handles excellent now, and it isn't too low, I can still make it over a majority of speed bumbs with no problems.

Check out the link for explanation

also check out pics to see how low it is....

How much did that cost you and what shocks and struts did you get? Was the job difficult ? Ive never done anything suspension wise though I have changed a rear end before..

How many inches does your ride sit off the ground ?

I bought KYB GR-2's is what they were called, ran me about 450$

The rear shocks are a piece of cake, but the front struts are a bit tougher, you'll also need to unbolt your sway bar, and move your spindles freely, so make sure that you have it lifted pretty high. Me personally, i got to use the lift at midas here in town......no jack stands needed!

What are the price range on somethin like that is 450 the cheapest or most expensive middle ? I guess maybe I should try to redo the bushings on the front sway bar and the rest and see how that goes if it doesnt seem to hard ill dig in more hehe. Thanks so much for all the information!

Oops! $450 for eibach springs, KYB shocks and struts. That was my total cost, I'm really not sure of the individual prices......

you'll also want LCA relocation brackets. say $70 plus welding.

Personally I think the sportlines look better but remember eibach also offers the prokit, with a drop of about 1.3 inches.

BTW, there's no such thing as an 85 RS.

The base model camaro's in 85 were the sport coupe and berlinetta.
