flaming River i believe makes something like this, i dont believe its a direct replacement though . You may have to modify something. There was a tech article in one of the Chevy High Performance Mags last year on it when they put a detroit speed steering box in a thirdgen.............jt

You have to buy the shaft/joints/etc. all seperate then cut to fit and all that from Flaming River, correct?

I was looking into the Borgeson joints. I want SS everything in my car and IIRC Flaming River didnt have much of a selection but it has been a while.

Borgeson also has aluminum u-joints and shafts that you can polish up.

You have any experience with the aluminum ones? I would consider them if they arent going to break

Too much bling for my taste. I've got a modified one from an Astro Van because it uses u-joints instead of the normal type couplers. I needed it because the factory steering shaft had to be relocated to get past the headers.

I've think read about the astro van mod but I couldn't find the post. Doesn't it eliminate the rag joint. Where did you cut the astrovan shaft, how many inches above and below the u-joint?

I cut the u-joint yokes out of the astro van shaft and inserted the third gen shaft into the yokes. I then welded the u-joint yokes to the shafts. The shafts are the same size diameters. It's just that the Astro van uses u-joints and the third gen uses a rag joint at the bottom and a coupler at the top.
