I noticed a big difference by changing out the regular sway bars on our '91 Firebird with the Sport Appearance package, to the 36/24 setup from a Trans Am, along with putting on new Energy Suspensions Polyurathane bushings and endlinks, as well as a wonderbar from a IROC.
The car now takes turns at speed alot better, and higher speeds!

Either way, I would go the biggest one you can, a 36mm front.
Even with just this bar and your stock rear bar, your car will handle way better! You will be able to take tuns at higher speeds.
Both 36mm front, and 24mm rear, and with a wonderbar, go for around a hundred or so on this site, used, less if you find them at a yard and pull them yourself.
A harsher ride, yes, but you will love thew way the car handles!
Heck, just adding wider tires will feel better too!
We went from 15s to 16s, Diamond Spokes with 245/50 tires on our Bird, and we won't go back.
If we ever get another Bird, we will do the same thing again!

Good luck,

George

As for your sway bar size,
If they have a tool store around you, check them out.
I picked up a caliper for measuring thickness of bars and such, for only 99 cents!
It was made out of plastic, but works great!
I have them in my tool box, and check sway bars at the yards.
I would guess that you would have either a 30mm or 32mm bar stock on your car.

Sorry I can't help you out any more.

If your car was a TA you proably have 32mm front and 19mm rear. If your car was a V6 car they may even be smaller.

Im not sure if Pontiac did it the same as Chevy with Camaro, but if You got a V8 car w/factory 16 inch wheels, you should have gotten the 32mm front and 19mm rear bars. Hope that dosent confuse you.

But if you car came from the factory w/15 inch wheels, then you might have the 30mm front bar.
