Does anyone rebuild steering boxes?

I have heard a lot of people say that they have a hard time getting the right replacement unit. So I wanted to have mine rebuilt, so I know I am not getting one that is different. Problem is I don't know where to start. I am close to getting the car back on the ground, and I want to get the box done so I can bolt everything else up. Thanks

Will

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
I do.

But only my own, and even then, only when I have to.

You can get the kit at NAPA, same as me.

Cant find anyone in the Bay area that rebuilds them?

Rebuilt units are available through most parts houses or you could step up to a Remy unit. Expect to spend some $$

For future reference if anyone does a search, I had my steering box rebuilt by Red Head Steering gears. They did an excellent job rebuilding it and accommodating to my needs. I wanted the same valve size for the same "road feel" and a polished top. The guy I talked to was very helpful answering all of the questions I had. My father also had a gearbox rebuilt by them, and it is in great condition.

I had the steering box on my Z28 rebuilt by Lee http://www.leepowersteering.com/ last October. I have nothing but good things to say about their work. The steering is tighter, more responsive, and has zero play.

ok, how about some prices? I found a brand new delco replacement for a reasonable price, and I might just go with that.
