4th gen wheels on a 3rd gen
Anyone have chrome 2002 z28 wheels on a third gen? Would like to see what they look like and what adapters I would need to put them on my 88 sport coup convert.

i have a set of 2'' spacers on mine to make my 4th gen ss wheels fit and it was a bad move. the steering is all jacked up because it made the axis where the wheel turns on (steering wise) not in the center of the wheel. so now i have bump steer and the outside of my 275 wide tires are worn bald. If you do this make the camber a lil greater than factory or get the right suspension setup. I'm putting a 4th gen suspension in to solve the problem and cause i just want to, but you might want to consider running smaller width tires in the front than i am so the backspacing doesn't have to be off. This lets you run smaller spacers. Hope that helps

browncamaroz28,
are you using the tappered lug nuts that bolt the adapter to the hub or the long shank type with a washer?

Try www.skute.com. They have lots of info on 4th gen wheel fitment/issues and adaptors.

I would look at your car before blaming the spacers.
I have the Skulte ones with the Acorn style lugnuts.
With 275 wide tires up front, you will notice a bit of rut wander (car follows the ruts in the road and pulls left and right).

wheels are on acorn style lugs and the car has been aligned to factory specs. I have pretty new front struts and all the balljoints are tight or close to new. The car is tight straight and well mantained. So i tested it, i went back to the stock tires and offset and the problems were gone... With the spacers the car, which i needed cause 1.75" spacers just rubbed, the offset is off. Maybe it is just my car but i really don't think so, it looks more like the offset problem would lead to the other problems... Zepher, were the specs of the wheels?
Edit: you have 2" spacers, didn't see it in your info.

I ran 2.25" spacer on all 4 corners of my old project 86 Trans Am,

then put put 4th gen rears on the 86 and the 92 and put the other 2.25"'s on the front of the 92.
