BF Goodrich 295/50-16

I am considering putting these BFG 295/50-16's on my '89 Iroc on the stock 16x8 Iroc rims. I want to hear what people think of how these tires look, perform, and things like that. And please don't bash 'em if you haven't tried 'em, but all opinions are welcome. By the way, I have 245/50-16 Fuzion ZR's up front. Thanks.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

that tire is way to big for what your doing and if you mean the radial t/a that one of the biggest pos tires bfg makes i know i sell tires for a living. i highly recommend not going that route. Later Daniel

i have to agree with Dans87GTA i had those on my 92 rs and they where by far the worst tires ive ever had, they wouldnt hook for anything.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

Well, from my experience, nothing but a drag radial or better will hook up on these third gens. I'm daily driving my Iroc to and from school and work, and am purely going for looks on this one. I don't push my car very hard in the turns, and being a daily driver launch/hooking up/traction is not a very big issue.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

I would worry about 295's being too wide for those wheels. I would definitely go a bit smaller. I am running 245/50R16 BFGoodrich Comp T/A's on my stock wheels. Also, I am not a big fan of BFGoodrich either, but they do look good. In my experience they wear out extremely fast for the limited traction they provide. I like the Nitto 555's... They wear out fast too, but they are STICKY!!

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

cooper/delta tires also have that size, but I think you need 10" rims for them. Also M&H drag radials come in a 275/55/16.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

in my sig below im running cooper cobras that are 265/50-r15's all the way around on 1969 corvette rally rims. fit fine and look nice. they hook nicely on dry pavement. just dont slam on the brakes in the rain if possible. thursday im getting my 295/50-r15's for the rear and keeping the 265's up front. i also got a different backspaced rims so i dont rub the inner rear fender wells.

are the other 265s out of tread? or are you keeping them for spares? I might take them if you sold them cheap(size is no longer available )

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

As Dans87GTA stated, they suck! They won't hook or handle as well as a decent 255, and by putting them on too small of a rim(your 8 wide), they will wear even worse than normal.

Put properly sized tires on your car, thus not risking the rest of us on the road. If you want wide tires, get a wide enough wheel to support them.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

295's are too large for those 16" wheels. You won't like the handling and ride at all (if you've experinced a good performance tire before).

I wouldn't do it.

I've got a used pair of BFG Comp T/A 265/50r16's in very good condition for sale in the Toronto area.

Yes, that size is no longer available.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

you need to go with a smaller tire. The 295's are just too big and won't handle well.

Re: BF Goodrich 295/50-16

that was one issue i believe i had with my previous wheel/tire combo. i had the 265's all the way around on 8 inch wide original 1969 vette rallies. now i have 10 inch wide rims and the 265's up front sit much better. now that i have 295's for the rear, ive noticed it takes a little more power to turn them over. i plan to get some other rims though to tuck them in further. these are the only rims i currently have because my dad wanted his rims back...

and to novamanx if your referring to me, im sorry, but i do not have the other two remaining 265's...i had to have something to burn up at Michigan's annual dream cruise!!
