Sub-frame connectors on daily driver?
I'd like to strengthen the chassis on my 86 Iroc daily driver but looking at posts it sounds like sub-frame connectors are best served on a racing car. i live in a town where the roads are horrible and i feel my car falling apart (that's why i'm considering sfcs). if i weld in sfc's, will my ride become unbearably hard? i guess i'm wondering what the net effect of sfc's will be on a daily driver with rough roads. thanks.

SFCs will improve your ride. You'll find that the car flexes less, rattles & squeeeks less, the body won't shimmy & shake like it does now, etc.

yes, exactly wat sofakindom said, the hard ride is more dependant on your suspension, all the sfcs will do is improve the ride for you, and give the car better equipment to cope with all the bumps. Good for you, good for your car, but you wont see as big a difference as if you were on a track.

I put the Spohn SFC's on my car a few years back, completely stiffened the body and allowed the suspension to do it's job. They do not cause any clearance problems and I couldn't be happier!

SFC are the best Mod for any 3rd gen model.
I don"t know what Posts you were reading but you must have mis-understood them.

my Iroc is a t-top model, so i'd look forward to less flex. i like what i'm hearing on this board. sounds like a good upgrade.
i'm looking at Spohn's also. recently ordered their front sway bar for my 70 Pontiac.

Re: Sub-frame connectors on daily driver?
The first thing I did to my car when I bought it was to put SFC in it. Of course I also never was able to drive it on the street. Since I bought my car, it's always been a race car.
Because of the sheet metal body/frame structure of the third gen unibody, SFC help join the front and rear structure together. This reduces or eliminates body flex and twisting. Even for a street only car, it's one of the best investments you can do to a third gen.
