wheel adapter / spacer size Q 17' torque thrust type m's

ok guys so im replacing my 16 black crosslace rims on my 89 trans am with 17x9 torque thrust type m's wrapped in 275-40-17 firestone firehawk wideovals (i allready bought them mounted and balanced). my question is what size spacers do i need? my friend said he thinks i need 2' for the back and either 2' 1/4" or 2'1/2" for the front. also, anyone know anywhere i can find them cheap? alot of people use skulte but has anyone ever tried the ones off eBay?

Re: wheel adapter / spacer size Q

uhhh, How exactly are we supposed to help you if you don't tell us the backspacing is on the wheels you bought. They could be perfect or they could be out by 5"

Re: wheel adapter / spacer size Q

If they are the same offset as the 4th gen wheels you need at least 2" spacers. 2.25" are best to go with.

Re: wheel adapter / spacer size Q

they were taken off a 97 trans am.. american racings site says that they have a 45 offset..backside is 6 3/4...and the bolt pattern is 5x4 3/4

Re: wheel adapter / spacer size Q

I have some 2" spacers i've been trying to sell from skulte. I ran 97 SS wheels on my 87 camaro and they fit perfect with the 2" spacers. PM me if your interested.
