Will they rub?
I found some wheels I realy like but they only come with 5.875 backspacing 6.125" or 6.625" they can also be ordered with a 30.00mm or 35.00mm offset these are 17" wheels 8" wide for the front with 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern.
I want to run 17" in the front a 18" in the rear and the only 18" I can get has 6.125" backspacing and is 8.5" wide.
would these rub and what size would fit if any?
Here is a link to the wheels on summit.

Re: Will they rub?
Hey,
No they won't rub...but they will look "tuck in" inside the wheelwell due to the bs.

Re: Will they rub?
? For you guys running aftermarket wheels - I have an 86' TA and wanting to put 17x7's in the front and 17x9.5s in the rear (torgue thrusts). Any ideas on what kind of offset or backspacing I need, also any ideas on tire size ? Right now it has 245/50 on16's. ??? thanks

Re: Will they rub?
Dubs,
First.........WELCOME to the board...
I would suggest a 3.5" bs for the front and 5.5" bs for the rear. If you decide on an 8" front rim then go with a 4.5" bs.
A classic set up would be a 245 45 17 on a 8" rim for the front and 275 40 17 on a 9.5" rim for the rear.
Good luck........

Re: Will they rub?
1991on20's,
They will both fit (assuming you are running stock brakes and not custom).
One thing to remember about the Rogue is that it will sit fairly deep inside the wheel well because the front spacing is only 2.375". You may want to consider spacers(1.5 to 2") just to bring the wheel out a bit. It's your preference.
I like the rogue design myself but decided against it for that reason as I did not want to run spacers.
Have alook at the AR torqlite in a 18x8 with a 4.5" bs. They look like weld prostars....
Good luck

Re: Will they rub?
I have no input on this subject. But my question is i bought a 91 bird and i found an 82 camaro for parts mainly the wheels and tires. they fit and ran fine on the camaro but when i put them on my bird the drivers side rubs the tie rod on the bottom.. and suggestions. i replaced the struts and all the tierods and center link. the tires are 245/50/16 on american racing python wheels.

Re: Will they rub?
the wheel selection is the only thing that really pi$$es me off about our cars. There aren't any wheels! Its either u can buy drags, 17in or 20in wheels. I want 18's with the right spacing...without payin custom wheel prices.
I would go with coys gunmetal c-5's but the center caps/ center section is ugly. Then they have the c-57 but the "spokes" are tooo fat.
check this out....NICE american racing gunmetal TT2's
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...QQcmdZViewItem
then i look at the rogues and u gotta run spacers? WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE WHEELS for our cars! rant over...lol
but anyways.....can I remove the spacers WITH SIMPLE TOOLS and put stock wheels on at the track?
last question: What wrong with running spacers anyway?

Re: Will they rub?
One thing to remember is that many of the wheels available today are not designed for our old style wheel bearings/hubs.
Many new wheels will give the proper backspacing, but the wheel center is too thin to fit over the center dust cover. The dust cover will either protrude through the wheel center hole, not allowing the center cap to fit, or it will not allow the wheel to sit flat against the mounting surface, possibly breaking the wheel when you tighten it down. Be sure to check this before buying the wheels.
