Just an FYI: There are no STB's that will fit a carbed car with the the AC compressor on the driver's side.

Any tbi one should fit. You could always make your own. There not too hard to make if you can weld.

Re: Need A Strut Tower Brace?

wouldnt it matter if hes running a raised intake? idk the specs of the TBI braces but im sure if u run a taller intake/cleaner etc that it mite not work.

thats why the TPI braces dont work wit the HSR >:0

just make your own, the edelbrocks are $$$ for basically nothing lol

Re: Need A Strut Tower Brace?

The Edelbrock WILL work if you modify the AC bracket.

Re: Need A Strut Tower Brace?

AC compresors came from the factory with it mounted on either the right or left sides. If your mounted on the pass side the Edlbr. will work fine. The problem arises when you have the AC mounted on the drivers side.

Re: Need A Strut Tower Brace?

84 T/A, 305 and carbed here.

So, since my AC is on the drivers side I'm basicallys screwed and won't find a STB that will fit?

What needs to be done to modify the AC bracket?

Screwed, yes, though in an e-mail from Spohn last summer, he indicated that the company might well have a product out in the fall (way past), but that may eventually come to pass. Personally, I'd rather wait for a well-engineered piece, than mod the AC bracket, which I can't see as being a wise choice.

And that's exactly what I'll do. I'll check back with Spohn periodically to see what they come up with if anything.
