Wheel Spacers?

Need help with wheel spacer size. Need to stick my factory wheels off my 95 formula on my 87 trans am (tires are shot on the trans am, don't have money to buy new ones yet). Does anybody know offhand, what size spacers I will need.

Re: Wheel Spacers?

i wouldnt go more than 3/8's, why do you need spacers to swap rims anyways?

Re: Wheel Spacers?

I believe that the back spacing on 4th. gens is bigger than on third gen's. At least that's what i've been told. I put vette wheels on my 95 and it was a direct swap, but aren't the third gens different?

Re: Wheel Spacers?

Check for yourself its really easy but im pretty sure they have the same backspacing.. Take a ruler or straight edge and lay it across the rim, then take a tape measure and measure to the center of the rim and that is your backspacing.. if anything the 4th gens have more backspacing becuase there bodies are wider.

Re: Wheel Spacers?

The rear end is about 1-5/8" different on each side.

The closest spacers you can buy to that, are 1¾". That's what you need.

Re: Wheel Spacers?

I think 1.75" (obviously depending on exactly which wheel he's using) would tuck a lot farther than he'd probably want. I'm running a 4thgen rear and 1" spacer along with C6 wheels, the front is a 2" spacer...

Re: Wheel Spacers?

Hope you realize that the spacers are going to cost as much as a set of cheap tires. Unless the rims you have are something you like, you'll be further ahead buying tires.

Hey creepy,

This is the second post I've seen where you have been providing blatantly false information. You might want to take a step back and do some reading for a few weeks to play catch up.
