i was searching for info on the edelbrock strut tower braces, it seems some people had trouble with them clearing the AC unit, but mine doesnt clear the alternator on my serpentine setup.

i could notch the brace to clear the alternator but i dont think it would be enough clearance for the terminal on the back. do i have something misaligned in my mock-up here that i'm missing?

Looks like to me it's cause you have a 4.3 V-6 serpentine drive on it.

 

hmmm interesting.

i guess that would explain why my alternator DOES clear the tall edelbrock valve covers when i know thats a problem for some people. d'oh.

i dont think i have a v8 serp bracket, i have a few other 6's laying around. crudler.

try using a camaro alternator"serpentine" bracket. the 4.3 brackets brought everything together closer and a littlet higher. Look at a stock camaro and you'll see what I mean.
