get spohn subframe connectors first if you don't have them already

I agree. But it seems to depend on which tranny it is for. I looked at the one for the th400, and it looks like it drops real low.

I have heard of people having major issues, with dual exhaust routing with them.

He's asking about the k-member, not transmission cross-member.

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

The guy that did the LS1 swap on my car attempted to use a Spohn Kmember. Needless to say I still have the stock Kmember in my car. The Kmember had some pretty bad allignment issues. There are some guys on the board with em though.

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

BadAz_Iroc, do a search first...this has been covered pretty extensively. Long story short is some guys apparently had issues with fitment when using the Spohn unit, some had issues with fitment and OEM a-arms, some had fitment issues with spohn a-arms and kmember..others say it is the sweetest thing since sliced bread. Me personally, I don't have either but a friend of mine has both the kmember and front a-arms and he LOVES them.

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

I have the Spohn K-member and A-arms with Koni shocks/struts and Eibach lowering springs. Believe me, the clearance between Spohn K member and the ground is not an issue. No matter how 'slammed' your car is.

It's a quality piece of engineering and bolts on with no problems.

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

Ground clearance with the Sphon K frame is actually better, since the diameter of the tubing is much les than the size of the oe crossmember it gives you more room under the engine as well.

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

i got the K-member and A-arms, and it bolted right in no prob, i haven't been able to test it, b/c i'm in iraq and the engine is still out of it, but it defenatly has more clearance all the way around then the stock unit

Are you guessing or did you wiegh both pieces. Also, did you do the A arms? Just curious, as I plan to do the swap

Re: Who has a spohn K-member?

They did a swap in Camaro Performers If I had a scanner I would post it. They got theres from some other company though. They had a High School Shop class install it because it was that easy.

I just wanted to state that I did not have the facts straight. The Kmember that gave him problems on the LS1 install into my 92 GTA was from PA Racing and NOT Spohn. Nobody twisted my arm, I just wanted to add this incase someone does a search someday and reads my first post. Sorry for the passing along of mis-information.
