front torque arm bolts 1 or 2??

i noticed some noises when i was pushing my car out of the driveway and i looked under the car and the front of the torque arm appears to be moving. My buddy said my bushings are shot, i looked under there but they look good but it appears i only have 1 bolt. there is a spot for the other bolt it looks like but it doesn't look like I would be able to get it in there at all. here are some pics thanks

You can remove the crossmember so the tranny tilts down, to give you more room. I would just remove the 4 bolts that hold the tail housing (Transmission extension case) on. remove drive shaft, and pull that whole assembly out. So might as well replace the bushing for the trq arm while it's out.

Reassemble

Its a pain to do. The bushing is a 2 piece bushing that sandwiches the front of the torque arm. You have to pull the DS and drop the end of the tranny till you can slide out that bracket (long bolt). I had to do it last year, took me a while to figure it out.

That's why you should just remove the whole tail housing from the tranny. Make's it so much easier. All you really have to do is remove the drive shaft, 4 bolts, then disconnect the speedo cable or the wires to the VSS, whichever you have. Remove the 2 bolts at on the bracket by the exhaust, then remove the 4 bolts that hold the tail housing to the trans.

Re: front torque arm bolts 1 or 2??

The trq arm itself just slides in and out of the bushing. No need to undo any of the bolts, except the 2 long bolts on the rear. I am talking (and what I thought you were asking) about, is the "clamshell", the part that holds the bushing.
