Hotpart Control Arms???

Does anyone know if these control arms are anygood? http://www.hotpart.com/index.php?p=show&id=10

They seem like they would work, but i don't wanna buy control arms that will bind up anyway.

Are J&M products any good?

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

How would that round middle acually reduce bind? It seems that the Steel bolt tube (for lack of better words) still is one piece and the outside bushings are still tight against the bolt tube and the LCA itself. To me it seems as though if you take that round bushing out nothing will change. I may be 100% wrong but thats my 2 cents.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

It reduces bind because the outer bushings are softer than the round bushing in the middle.

I just read that other thread, not very much info there. go to camaroz28.com and search there. Seems like a lot of guys have them.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

I see, that does actually make sense. The softer bushings on the outside are allowing more twist while that round hard bushing is giveing you the ridgity you want. Looks like a pretty good design then. Thanks krisb410

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

I have UMI adjustable LCAs. The rodends are seized, so I have Johny Joints to replace them http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...nnyjoints.aspx. Haven't put them in yet, but hopefully soon.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

Those look quite impresive. Have you ever experienced "bind" in your LCAs if you ever had non rod ended ones? Reason I'm asking is because UMIs non adjustable are a good deal and ive never had bind occcur before. Does bind occur in really really hard turns or even slight turns (under 30 mph)?

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

Krisb410 those Currie ends look interesting. I'm curious as to what size (P/N I guess ) that you ordered to go on your UMI centers. I have UMI centers and have been contemplating going with the J&M LCA's because I don't want to deal will double rode ends again on the street.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

Coolram62 were the double rod ends that loud? I think im actually going to buy the J&M LCAs because of hopefully being bind free (just searched and read all about bind and i dont want that to happen) and hopefully they're quiet on the road as well. Maybe Ill wait till someone has them on thier car and gives us all a report on how they performed. $115 shipped on ebay isnt a bad deal

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

I installed the J&M Products LCA and non-adjustable panhard rod on my car 5 years ago and they are a quality product. I bought mine as a package deal on Ebay for $99.00. They virtually eliminated all wheel-hop under acceleration and extreme braking.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

Ok. Thanks for the search. I didn't see that. Didn't try very hard though. I never read new posts on that last thread i posted on.

I'm gonna go ahead and get them. I'll let everyone know how they are.

Re: Hotpart Control Arms???

89ROC-Z they were a bit much for me for the street. Perhaps if the rod ends had been teflon lined it may have been different. Thats's why the Currie ends look interesting as do the J&M LCAs - I'm not sure which way to go yet. But I do know it won't be double rod end like I have.
