What do i need to get the best stance?
I have been lookin at my iroc and i dont like the raked stance that it has. Sometimes it seems like one side is higher than the other and i dont know if that is from worn suspension or what. But i would like to have a better stance but it looks like the rear needs to be lowered about 2 inches and the front maybe an inch. Does anyone have some recommendations? I am new to the suspension and i want to have a great handling and looking car. Please help me. Also has anyone ever heard of a worn suspension making a car sit funny from left to right? -Matt

find out more and see what you'd like. worn parts might cause an uneven stance. like brakes, suspension doesn't wear evenly all the time. sometimes one thing breaks or wears out a little more quickly. if the edges of the road where you drive are all disintegrated then your right side might wear out a little faster. see what I mean?

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
Keep a few things in mind...
Obviously, the lower you go, the more issues you'll have with clearance, speedbumps, etc. etc.
You'll also lose some ride comfort. Your age/personal preference, and how often you drive will be an issue. I'm 33, and like a cush rollin' caddy style ride, but I only take the Iroc out here and there, so it's all good. No way I'd drive it everyday.
...and last but not least, keep in mind that with worn suspension, you're already lowered (probably). Lots of posts out there about people who buy a product to get a 2" drop, only to find they only drop an inch or so. A new product tells you what you'll get if you have STOCK ride height, but with old suspension, many of us already are a little low. Just food for thought.

Get weight jacks. Ground-control-store.com and search Camaro. They are expensive ($460) but they allow you to dial in the exact height you want and they let you pick your spring rate when you buy the kit.

Be aware, if you lower the rear, you will probably want the control arm relocation brackets. See the sticky at the top here. They make a BIG difference.

Dude the guy i bought mine from said he lowered the car 1inch alll around but the back still looks a little higher then the front. I hate the rake look too. Just get some springs but keep in mind, the weight from the engine is going to slam the front and the rear will be higher,,, i think i'm right?
Oh by the the way that photo shop u did is real cooool. I like that look on an IROC.

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
get these
http://www.daymotorsports.com/produc...-JACK-ASSEMBLY
then pair it with their 5" springs.
stock IROC springs are 750# springs (or thereabouts)
get 800# springs in 8-9.5 inches long for better handling

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
Hello,
Just keep this in mind! When you lower the car to the extreme, you will be getting into the Adjustable panhard bar to keep the rear centered under the car and possibly Adjustable Lower Control Arms to keep the tires where they need to be. If you have any other questions feel free to ask or call.
Thanks Again,
Brad

Other than the wheels, I have to agree.

Here are some shots that i got. I think the rear end is about an inch off from left to right the front is pretty close now i know the 1/4 panel had been replaced but it all lines up pretty good. So i dont think its that. Here are some other pictures. -Matt

They work, I don't think they just slip in. Think some mods are required.

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
i looked at the Eibach pro series kit and it said that it could be used with the factory shocks.. which granted mine need to be replaced anyways but if thats the case would i need to get the panhard bar and the LCAs? -Matt

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
They will work with them, but I tried it and it's not a good idea. Killed fairly new replacement shocks in a month or two. I reccomend replacing the shocks with the springs before the LCAs or anything else. \
BTW, I wasn't knocking the IROCs on your car, I was talking about the wheels on the photoshop.

But with the pro series the LCAs and panhard bar would still be needed? -Matt

Re: What do i need to get the best stance?
It's a good idea to install LCARBS (lower control arm relocation brackets) if you lower the car. It corrects the rear control suspension geometry. I don't think the adjustable PHB is as 'needed' as the LCARBs, but it's still a good idea. As are adjustable LCAs, but lowering the car with something like the Pro-Kit wouldn't affect the position of the rear wheels in the wheel wells front to rear enough to need them if you are running stock sized wheels. I ran the ProKit on my car with the stock LCAs for a while. I was saying that if money was tight, I'd do good shocks with the springs before I'd spend on the LCARBs or PHB. Here are a couple of shots of mine with the KONIs, ProKit, etc from sig. No front or rear isolators. (crappy pics of a dirty car, but you get the idea of the ride height.

I hear you there. I've been wanting to do it for about two years, but haven't been able to justify it.
