Hey, I know Spohn used to sell an SLP version of their SFCs but I only see one version on their website now. Will the current version fit? What about UMI SFCs or other brands?
Also my y-pipe tucks very tight to my floor boards, like within an 1/8" of touching. Probably because of the poly motor mounts. This occurs about 1.5ft before the cat. Will this cause a problem with SFC install?
Thanks,
John

Spohn SFC's will fit. The heat shield for the Cat needs to be removed.Originally Posted by 87350IROC

Very cool. Thank you. Does the cross brace on the Spohns go under the cat?

If i remember, it went over the Cat and thar was the reason the heat shield was removed. Spohn's instructions also stated that the shield may be removed for clearance .Originally Posted by 87350IROC

I don't speak from experience, but on this site someone said their carpet was smoking due to no shield.

removing the heat shield is never a good idea.
No worries I think I would have enough clearance over the cat even with the heat shield. I am also looking at the UMI SFC's but it looks like their cross bar goes over the y-pipe, which is where I have exactly 0 clearance. Can anybody with UMI SFC's comment?

I have umis and yes it goes over the Y-pipe.

how about making your own. this thread may be helpful if you could make them. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...ign-rough.html

Bummer. I really prefer the look of the UMIs. Maybe I can make a custom cross bar for them that goes over the cat. Can you see the UMIs if looking at the side of the car if you get real low? It looks like they sit lower than the Spohns.Originally Posted by 89ROC-Z

The Spohn SFC.s tuck under very tight and are not visible. You could lay on the ground and put your face up to the rocker and you still would not see them.Originally Posted by 87350IROC

Alstons tuck above the single or dual cat pipes if your exhaust is in the stock location. You don't have to remove the heat shield, but it helps to notch the lip of the heat shield for more clearance.
