Re: exhaust crushing

In a stock style exhaust setup, the panhard bar cannot, in anyway, contact the exhaust. Its not possible, it would hit the upper panhard brace first.

Pics?

Something is bent.....OR.....Something else is doing the banging your hearing

And/Or your rear shocks might be out & allowing whatever banging it is, that you are hearing.

Re: exhaust crushing

If your rear shocks are shot, yeah.

But they should bottom out or the tires hit the fender wells first, before the axle does.....If the exhaust is up as high as it should be.

Re: exhaust crushing

You need the modified panhard brace it is for lowered 3rd gen with 3inch exhaust, it gives more clearence for the 3 inch pipe to come over the rearend.

My GTA has 3" exhaust & the stock brace & never has hit even once.

No...A modified Panhard Bar brace is NOT needed.

no, that part is for a totally different purpose. It provides extra clearance for dual 3" or large single exhausts, 3.5" or larger. Not needed fot a single 3", and for that matter, a single 4" will fit over the factory upperpanhard.

Re: exhaust crushing

You guys that say the panhard bar cannot hit the exhaust have never seen my car. Mine is crushed in about half an inch to a full inch. Maybe it's not in the right spot or something. Who knows

i have never seen your car, but i can guarantee you that the panhard bar cannot hit the exhaust, its impossible, unless you have removed the upper panhard brace and have a single 5" or larger exhaust or, have a hacked together setup that runs between the upper panhard support and the panhard bar. Perhaps a pic would shed some light on this matter

and since there was some confusion over my last post, the only thing the upper panhard relocation bar does is provide extra clearance. Its not needed for a single exhaust, even 4". Its mainly for a dual setup, though it will give you move room to fit the larger single exhaust setups more comfortably.
