You slid? Meaning you locked them up? Prolly flat spotted the tires.

Like it or not, you still might have put a flat spot on them - just cuz you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. You can have your tires "trued", which will bring them back into round again. I had a set of tires on my truck that did the same thing - no big deal. I wouldn't go making comments about killing people when they're making suggestions to you and trying to help you - that won't get you much help at all.

Yea, I know... Just giving you some **** back

Just call around before you waste your time driving around. I lived in Jax, Fl. when I had mine done. I doubt that all tire shops would have the machine to do it. It's kinda like turning the rotors on your brakes - same effect - smoothes them out again. I really don't know what the cost would be, either - it was so long ago when I did my tires. I would guess that just about any shop that sells the larger truck tires could do it for you. Good luck. I can't really think of anything else you might have done that would cause that, but going from 80-0 could certainly affect it, since you said you locked 'em up.

Heheheh, you want to see a seriously flat-spotted tire? Go to:
http://users.erols.com/gcwestph/flatspot.jpg

and admire what happens when I lock up my right front brake at 115 mph! Wore that sucker right down past the cords into the base rubber. Talk about a serious vibration! This was at the end of the long straight on the road course at Memphis Motorsports Park last year. As soon as I let off the brake and started making the first turn, I knew this wasn't a good thing...

You might also check your rotors. With pedal knock-back symptoms you're talking about, you could've warped 'em. I know this is not what you're wantin' to hear, just something you might check out while you're spending all that money!

hey greg i see you have the gold colored rims, the color looks as rough as mine do. i managed to strip the paint and clear off, and sanded them with a assortment of sandpaper from 260 grit to 2000 grit then polished them with mothers wheel polish, they look almost like they are chromed. alot of work but i think its worth it. is your iroc white? with gold striping. by the way i flat spotted all fours this last sunday ride sucks now but it was fun, luckily i need new tires anyway.

Heheheh, that's brake dust, lots of it! Those wheels are an extra set I bought to have the road-race tires mounted on, and their finish is in better shape than my original wheels. All 8 wheels look much better w/out a nice layer of brake dust on them. You can see more pix of my IROC on my page at:
http://users.erols.com/gcwestph/IROC.html

BTW, I prefer the gold color since it matches my black car with the single gold stripe.
