question on eibach & hotchkis springs

several people installed eibach pro-kit say their car looks the same, others say it lowers the car about 1" and some says it will settle over time. is that expected after installtion?

I had Hotchkis springs installed. Initially, about a 1" drop. But, they sank another 5.-.75". At this drop, I have front suspension hitting the K-member, so I'm going with different springs.

So dnovotny, dont leave us in suspense! What brand are you going to replace the Hotchkis with? I was going to go with Hotchkis myself but sounds like I should consider another brand.

I'm putting in Global West springs. I've been waiting 2 weeks for them to be delivered! I'll let you know the results when they're in. These springs aren't progressive, so they'll be hell of stiff, 640 lb/in front, 460 rear.

I forgot: drop! Supposed to be less than 1 inch in front, zero drop in the rear. The guys at GW are very knowledgeable, and claim you should never exceed 1" drop in front, or you'll run into problems like I have.

My Hotchkis springs settled about 1/4" after i installed them a year ago. I like them, not too low, but give a good, hi-po look.

I'm using the Eibach Sportlines and I've never encountered any problems like this with my Formula. The drop is 2" up front and 1.5" out back.

I've got the Global West springs in my car and am very pleased with them. The fronts are stiff, but that's what handles the majority of the overall handleing, the rear's aren't too bad. This is still with my sensa track shocks and struts though. Also, the front did lower about an inch, on the rear I had to put in new spring isolators on top of the springs, and that seems to be common in the rear.

This type of discussion happens a lot. 10 people do a mod, and one or two have problems with it. That doesn't mean they installed it incorrectly, or something else is wrong. My SFCs also didn't fit very well, so I must've bent my frame by hand. When it comes to installing springs, there isn't much you can do to affect ride height once they're in. I didn't put a 1000lb weight in front to make it drop more. All I'm trying to let people know is, just because "MOST" don't have a problem, doesn't mean you won't.
