LakeWood Lower Control Arms....any good?

Hey Guys,
Are these things any good? Are any control
arms any good? Do you notice a difference
from stock.

The Lakewood arms are $82 from Jegs..the
cheapest I have seen thus far...compared to
$250 for some other brands.

Well...any advice would be great!

go with them man.. a buddy of mine has them on his PUSTANG but his car handles almost like a stock IROC now, no seriously it helped out a lot. and go with the LAKEWOOD they know what they are doing. and go with a few more suspension pieces from them for the whole effect you will notice the difference. have fun man. power cant be put to the ground without a suspension. remember that

I would not use Lakewood. I can't remember if it was on this board or not but someone had problems with the welds on the LCA's breaking. I haven't seen them in person but from pictures they look flimsy. Get Steve Spohn's LCA's, they look like the best value, plus his support is priceless.

I'm with Eric, go with LCA's from Steve Spohn. His parts are top notch and he is very helpful if ya run into any problems.

I have a pair of the lakewood lower control arms and adjustable panhard rod on my 92 and have zero problems. The problems they are refering to are with their traction bars. The LCA's are solid 1/4" square tubing with pretty healthy welds and grease fittings on both ends. Order them from summit and see for yourself, if you don't like them they will take them back. I think I paid less than $200 for both, can't beat that.

Thanks guys,
I think I will try them out...you can't beat
the price, and they look solid to me. I also
saw the SPOHN ones and they look great, but
they are a bit too costy for me at this time.

Thanks for your advice!

I got a set of the Lakewood LCAs on my car. The best $80 (or so) I've ever spent . I bought 'em to combat the awful wheel-hop problem I was having after I put 3.73s and a posi unit in my rear-end. Fixed the problem totally. I'm sure they're not as great and wonderful as some of the more expensive units, but, for the price they're awesome. I'm sure they'll do just fine for you (unless you're running some crazy *** wild drag combo and need some of the really strong/expensive ones...).

I also have the Lakewood LCA's and adjustable track bar on my car, and for the money they can't be beat. They eliminated all my wheel hop and the urethane bushings don't squeak at all thanks to those grease fittings. My only complaint is that they're not fixture welded, and one of them was about 1/8" longer than the other. Go for them, you won't be disapointed.

Ive had the Lakewood LCA and Panhard rod on for about two years now.Dont have any problems.Best $170 I spent. The adjustable panhard is GREAT if you have a lowered car and want to bring the rear back to center.

I have them on my car (83 Z28 5-speed with a 400). They helped my hookup problems significantly, didn't totally fix them by any means, but are a definite noticeable improvement with no penalty that I've noticed. They didn't affect the ride or make the car noisy or anything obnoxious like that.

I considered Steve Spohn's, which appear to be a very heavy-duty piece optimized for drag racing, and also are adjustable length. If I spent more time at the strip I might go that way instead. But the Lakewoods seem fine for the street.

I have a set of Steve's LCA brackets which are going on a rear end I'm prepping to go in the car, and I have one of his torque arms. The torque arm tigthened up everything about the car. I can hardly wait to get the LCA brackets on, as I think that's the last remaining malfunction in my suspension.
