Non IROC & Z28 Alignment
This past Saturday, I finally got the front Bilstein struts and the new Spohn rear lower control arms and panhard rod installed.
When they did the alignment, they did it under a non IROC/Z28 proceedure. I told the tech that the suspension on my car was no longer stock and was replaced with the GM 1LE springs, sway bars, etc. a while back and the obvious 17x9.5 Ronal R-15 wheels. He looked at me like I was crazy and still did the alignment under base; non IROC/Z28.
Has anyone else had this issue and would another alignment be recommended for me to do?

What spec's did you want it aligned to??? Just because you added some no-stock type parts dose not change the alignment spec's for that model.

Ok cool. The reason I was also asking was because I read somewhere that IROC's have a different setting for either caster or camber (don't recall which).

Drive the car.
If the car feels stable at freeway speeds, its not pulling on side of the other or its not wandering about in the lane...You are good.
if anything feels bad, take it back and tell the alignment tech the trouble.
Most alignment shops are basic techs that can simply read and imput what the computer tells them to do. For that, they are required to put in the exact model of the car as if it were stock. If you want a performance alignment, then you will need to take it to a performance shop and you will also need to give values to the tech of what perameter changes you are looking for and why, or ask him what he/she suggests for your upgrades. A standard alignment shop like Sears, etc...will not be able to help you with anything other than putting in the correct year make and model car you bring to them regardless of modifications. They show you there computer readouts and if the car does not work from there its your problem not theirs. They will just come back and tell you their specs are correct and you will need to put the correct parts back onto the car to make their alignment work properly.
When I go to a shop I give them my own specs- but i am also liable if that is not correct and I experience improper tire wear. I sign a waiver saying this is what I wanted.

Most firestone stores will align to customer specs but you have to sign a waiver. As stated above (more or less) the fact is that most alignment techs at independent shops barely know how to work the machine and usually just set toe and ship it. There are ways to manipulate the machine to make other angle show correct even if they are not.

I went to a Goodyear Tire Center. But I will take the car on the freeway this weekend to really test it out but have to throw in some brake pads.
