quick question bout the sway bar
ok so i was changing my shocks and struts yesterday and noticed while doing the shocks that my rear sway bar bushings were pretty marred up and warranted replacing. also while doing the struts i noticed what i thought to be te front sway bar bushings were also pretty ate up. but im still pretty new at working on this car myself and very new to suspension/chasis work and wasnt sure if what i was looking at was actually the front sway bar or not. its a lot thicker then what i thought the sway bar was but like i said im a newbie at this. ill enclose pictures to better explain what im seeing exactly. if it is indeed the bushings for the sway bar then ill be replacing them this afternoon since there relatively cheap and doesnt look too hard to replace in the garage. just wanted to get some confirmation from you guys before i start buying stuff you know. thanks in advance guys

Re: quick question bout the sway bar
the big bar running across the car is the sway bar, the bolts that hold it to the control arms are the sway bar endlinks. All bushings can be replaced with basic handtools.

Awesome that's what I thought. Thanks slot for the quick response. I assume those marred up bushings would explain some of the rattling under the from end right

Re: quick question bout the sway bar
ok so i was looking at just replacing the links altogether cause they look slightly bent and theres 2 different ones. is one set for the front and the other for the back or are they 2 completely different things altogether. seems like its just a matter of length. one sayd 4 1/4 inch the other is 2 3/8. only ask cause ones in stock and the other has to be ordered and the guys at autozone dont know what to tell me. there from Energy Suspension by the way

Re: quick question bout the sway bar
the front links are longer, you can measure what you have to get the correct length. the measurement is the approx space between the control arm and the sway bar, so 2 of the bushings, 2 cups and the spacer.

The front and rears are the same length--at least Spohn is using the same part number.

Re: quick question bout the sway bar
My understanding of the different lengths were for different models. My 87(V6) uses the 4" and my 84Z and 88T/A use the 2 3/8.

Re: quick question bout the sway bar
I have the same length endlinks on mine both front and rear.
For the sway bar bushings, you'll need to get the dirt/grime build up off the bar, and measure the diameter in mm - there were several different sizes both front and rear. Fronts had 32, 34, 36mm bar options, rear had I think 20, 22, 24mm options.
