Quick Ratio Steering box?

Will it tighten up the steering considerably? Where can I get one? How much will it cost? Are there any aftermarket manufactures, or do I have to buy GM? Thanks guys!

i'd look for one out of a 91-92 Z28 or T/A from a salvage yard

I really dont want a used one. Is there any way to check to see if it is still good before taking it home? If so, then I might consider it, otherwise, I might want to go with one from www.agrsteering.com .

Howdy there, if I were you I'd give the guys at Global West a call before you get an AGR box. The reasoning is Global West races everything they build, and I believe they know what they're doing. Besides, they engineered their blueprinted steering gear to use the stock power steering pump. With AGR I'm fairly sure you have to buy an upgraded version of that as well. Basically, I have a Global West box and am happy with it. I'm not 100% sure but I think their website is www.globalwest.net Just my two cents folks, take care now.

I emailed Global West. Apparently they do not sell power steering boxes anymore. Anyone know where else to get a GOOD one? Thanks

Hey Scott...

I have the 1161p Box from AGR and have been very happy with it. The only thing i didnt like was the steering effort was a little easyer than my stock 90 IROC box was. So I had them install a 220 torsion valve in place of the 210(free of charge)that the box comes stock with. This is pretty close to the stock valving found on the IROCs. When you order they will install any valve you want. You do not need a new power steering pump with the AGR box. The stock one has worked fine in my car for over 60,000 miles. I paid around 310.00 for mine thru summitt.

If the box you have now has a lot of slop then it will make a big difference. If the rest of the suspension is worn you will need to replace that to get the tight steering you are after. If you have any questions send me and email and i will help as much as I can.

Take care,
Mike

If you're searching the yards for a used one, the best box is stamped "XH" on the cover. This came with 91-92 Z28,TA and others with F41 Suspension Option and 16" Wheels.
