It's what I put on all my vehicles.

When I worked at a brake shop we did some trials on city delivery trucks (3/4 and 1 ton). We did 3 trucks and got them to come in every month to get the pad and rotor thickness measured. When they were replacing brakes every 4 months, the CM pads lasted 15 with about the same amount of wear on the rotors. The company switched over all their trucks to CM pads.

Thats nice that they last 15 months. but they don't work when cold, or even when hot

I yanked mine after a month, and went back to stock pads

That's 15 months on a city delivery truck. The pads on my truck are now 4 years old and still have lots of lining left. It's best to install new rotors also.

To my knowledge pretty well every nascar team uses them. Of course they wear out a set in one race also but they last longer than other brands.

the compound you used on your truck, and the compound used on a nascar are completly different.

a street compound pad would melt in 1 minute on a nascar.

a nascar compound pad would eat your rotors on the street in 3 days.

The PF street pads I put on my car did not work for me. my car did not stop.

Hawk black pads worked best for me. they are race pads and are somewhat streetable.

My dad had 'em on his car and loved 'em until they tore most of the face off a rotor halfway through the pad life. the rotor was replaced at the same time as the pads were installed. they work great, but need to be warmed up. Try the "titanium linings" you can get em from JC Whitney. they're great for $30, and don't tear up your rotors-much better for the street.

I have a set of Perf Friction "Z" pads in my 85 TA with PBR Calipers from Baer Racing which work really well but have an annoying growl when stopping from 30-0 mph.
Ive just bought a set of EBC Green pads as I found out they are made only 30 miles away from me here in the UK.All the magazines seem to have given them good reports and they are guaranteed dust and squeak free.
I'll be fitting them soon so will report back then

I'm thinking now about getting Hawk brake pads. The Tire Rack has some pretty good prices on them and most everybody on the Rx-7 forum speaks highly of them.

I just put a set on my daily beater oldsmobile ('84 cutlass) and they seem pretty decent for what they are, much better than what was on there. It had semi-metallics of some sort, though I don't know whose. I just used the regular ones, not the "Z" pads.

I'm probably going to use the hawk pads on my 84. I have a set of Hawk HP Street pads waiting to go on a '79 vette (4WD). I'm anxious to see how they perform.
