Re: factory sway bar size?

There's a spec site somewhere that may tell you what was standard. Do you mean 24mm on the rear not 34mm?

Re: factory sway bar size?

Some Camaros 89-92 were equipped with the hollow 36mm/solid 24mm combo. Some 'Birds 86-92 were equipped with the above.

Re: factory sway bar size?

you probably have a 32 front bar, but its really quite easy to measure it to be sure.

Stick an adjustable wrench around it and measure the distance between the jaws.

There is no OE 34 mm rear bar.

or a cheap set of calipers works too. Just be sure to measure the bar away from any bends, since the steel is slight distorted there and the measurement will be off.

and yeah, no rear 34mm bar, largerst is a 24mm. If you do aftermarket you can find some big rear bars, but they are made to help the rear of the car squat evenly when launching at the drag strip. On the street, it would be a bad idea and make the rear of the car terribly loose in turns, if you are not careful, you will end up spinning out or wrecking

oh, and be sure to grab the sway bar mounts and bushings from the other car too, as i hear the mounts are different sizes for the smaller/larger sized front bars

I believe the mounts/brackets are the same for all cars; only the bushing size changes (for example I used the same brackets from my 34 mm front bar when I swapped in a 36 mm bar. I used both GM 36 mm 1LE bushings and the TDS version). TDS sells a kit with brackets and your choice of bushings.
