I purchased the Spohn's last week. If you have a SLP y-pipe you may have fitment problems on the passenger side. I got under the car and took a few digital pics of my exhaust and sent them to Steve Spohn. He said that he had just done an install on a care with SLP exhaust and will now be offering a "SLP version" subframe. That's what I ordered. UPS will deliver them today, so I haven't actually seen them yet. If you go with Spohn, call him up and talk it over.

Do you think that the slp version would fit on a car that is currently still a stock single cat, because I plan on changing that in the future. Would it matter if I went with the single or dual cat setup. I want to go with the dual cat setup but minus the cats so I can get better flow.

Weld ins are much better.

They are definitely more rigid and make a "true" frame instead of a "bolt-in" frame that may over time gain unwanted clearences.

And I would definitely recommend Spohn components.

I have done the research, and his are definitely top notch products.

I get asked this ALOT, I need to add an exhaust compatibility FAQ to my SFC page, which I will do. Here ya go for future reference:

Spohn Single Cat: Will fit stock single cat, Hedman single cat, Edelbrock TES single cat.

Spohn Dual Cat: Will fit stock dual cat and SLP dual cat.

Spohn SLP version: Will fit the SLP single cat y-pipe.

If you have a single cat now, and have future plans to upgrade to a dual cat or a SLP single cat, either version WILL work with a single cat set up.

The Spohn SFC's are without a doubt the best. I have them on my '82 Z28 project car.Soon to be on my '86 IROC Z. They are GREAT.
