Probably could be fixed, but for the trouble, I believe I'd snag one off a JY car.

Yeah, I bet the metal that was bent would be weaker too.

Mine got bent putting in new bushings, same thing happened, I'm looking at tubulars to replace them both outright, because after factoring in new ball joints, paint, bushings, labor to press in ball joints and bushings, along with the cost of the A arms....It was getting up there, so I decided to get new ones. Just my two cents.

a lot of times that will happen when you put in new bushings. you should put a spacer there so it doesnt collapse.

you know you can get aftermarket lower control arms that are WAY better than stock.. any stock lower control arm with stock bushings is crying out for new bushings... i have these on my car... they are 114 dollars.. i would go through the trouble for stock ones..

It's the A-arm he has bent (front), not the control arm (rear)

Man I was trying to get the bushings out but just couldn't get the stupid thing perfectly verticle to press it. Just going to let a shop do this one. Thanks for the input.

It is still a control arm - but David (88fastGTA) linked to a rear control arm, which is NOT the same, and thus not helpful to the OP. I know why - I'll bet he was checking from his cell phone rather than a computer, and thus he didn't see the pic showing a front A-arm.

I'm not saying anything bad about David trying to post a helpful link at all - just stating that he linked to the wrong part. David and myself are buds, he knows I wasn't trying to dis him but rather I was just pointing out what he missed - in an attempt to ensure the OP didn't just order the wrong part.

Re: Can I fix this or do I have to get a new control arm?

lol jeff(camaronewbie) is exactly right i did look at it through my phone... half the time i post from my phone when im not at home and i actually thought it was the rear control arm through my tiny screen... but its all good.. i didnt take offense at all.. im glad i was corrected because i dont like to give out wrong info... but i would get another set off another car as well... if your rims are 15 inch factory rims make sure you get one off another 15 inch rimmed car... i hear that the 15 and 16 inch wheels are alittle different with the a arms and dont like up exactly with endlinks and etc... im not to sure on that but i know people had issues with that...

Yeah that's another thing I was thinking about. what if my car had 14" cragar wheels on? Should I just look up what an 86 lg4 firebird came with from the factory? seems like that would make the most sense..
