Strut brace no drilling?
I was looking into a strut brace and notice alot of them you have to drill into the body and I dont want to do that. Is a there a brace where I dont have to drill? If not is there a better alternative or even if I have to drill it is worth it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

All need drilling or you will need to build one that bolts to the existing caster/camber plates but it needs to be adustable so you can still dial in the suspension if needed.

You might consider after market strut mounts with spherical bearings before adding the STB.

Re: Strut brace no drilling?
From your screen name I assume you have a TPI car. The braces differ on the car if it's a TBI.
In my case I have a TBI & got the Edelbrock. I did have to drill, but it was cake!!!
Things you need:
1. A punch (this way the drill bit stays in-line).
2. Several size metal drill bits.
Start with a small pilot hole & work your way up on drill bit size until you reach the desired opening. If you try to go straight to the size hole needed, you might have a hard time, the metal in this area of the car is tough. Doing it with the "step" methods makes it a breeze!!!
Good luck!

Like mentioned, our part #2008 bolts into existing strut mount bolts and has drilling as optional. You can drill the third hole if you desire but you don't have too. Our brace is only for the 87-92 TPI models and may interfere with a GTA hood.

I have the MAC stb. I bought it when my car was TBI. I made the switch to TPI and it cleared the plenum.

I am not sure to be honest, we just had a few customers report it hitting this hood. I assume its in the rib support somewhere. Again, just a thought.

Re: Strut brace no drilling?
UMI is correct. The inner bracing of the GTA hoods interfere with their STB, preventing the hood from closing fully. It will cause the hood to sit up just a bit more than 1/8" causing it not to sit flush with the fenders. You can cut away some of the bracing, if you want to make it fit.

But the threads ends that it is going to be tested with no further report back. But I've done it myself & mentioned it above.
