94 Camaro suspension into an 82 trans am??
I have a 94 camaro and an 82 trans am sitting in my garage. the camaro doesnt run and i wont have the money to fix both cars. the trans am runs but is in the middle of a resto. i wanted to beef up the suspension in the TA and get new parts for it just to make everything a little newer. I know i do not have the money right now to do that and wont for a while. So the question popped in my head is it possible to put everything from the camaro Z28 with a T-56 into the Trans am excluding the engine? i havent researched anything yet but i know there will be problems before i even get started i just want to know is it possible and if so how much moddification will be needed. i need to look up dimentions on everything and measure everything out yet, just came up with the idea late last night and thought it over with a good friend of mine and previous owner of the Z.

Some of the suspension maybe. LCAs and panhard bar should fit.
I would think the T56 would with bolt in transmember, but aren't they VSS? I would think your 3rd gen is cable driven. So might have issue there.
I was thinking the 700s and factory t56s driveshafts were the same length for driveshafts but the 200c is like the turbo 350 length? Meaning it's a different length than the t56. So you would need to swap the driveshaft over. I would imagine the '82 torque arm would not fit either but the 4th gen one should.
4th Gen rears fit but they are about 2" wider per side, so if you swap that in your 3rd gen wheels will not fit correctly, but you could use the 4th gen rims on the back and then a spacer used on the fronts to get them to fit.

the rear suspension, torque arm, driveshaft, and trans- yes.
the front suspension- no.
you could swap the brakes over, but they wouldn't be much of an improvement over what you have..

Not really for suspension.

Not a single front suspension item on the 4th Gen is shared with the 3rd Gen. The rear suspension is nearly identical down to the part numbers - meaning that none of the parts will be better than the parts already on your car unless they're in better condition.
The LT1 T56 will mount directly with our T-56 conversion crossmember or our Torque Arm Relocation crossmember. As for the driveshaft, don't hold your breath on it being the correct length, but it is possible.
