36mm front sway bar, is there bigger
36mm front sway bar, is there bigger
Is there a larger aftermarket sway bar for the front of the ws6 stock 36mm. Ive seen some of them at 1 5/16. I need a much stiffer than stock one. Also would like to find a smaller one for the rear with less lbs of torsion. Any ideas?

You can get rears as small as 17mm may e less or lose it all together if the car is stiff enough.
As for the front, there is a 35 solid bar available but thats it. Its slightly stiffer than stock. Why do you feellike you need such a large front bar?

Due to the fact this is a cp class autocross car with 13" wide slicks front and we already have 950lbs springs with koni adjustables up front. We have unhooked the rear sway completely to get some rear side bite on the slippery track we run on which works well except now we hace a little to much roll. Our lot is very very bumpy so we dont really want to stiffen the springs anymore. Either stiffer front bar or very soft rear bar is our next step to get the car where we would like.

You can try moving the rear sway bar axle mounts closer to the center of the axle, it will make the bars rate a bit lighter.
I think the brand is SST for that 35mm front bar. Strano mighty sell it on his site I dont remember.

Thats actually an idea worth looking into. Be really good if I could find a 17 or 19mm rear somewhere and do that but all I can seem to find are 22mm ones. Any ideas where to look?

Ebay. Look for 4th gen rear bars too, they are the same. Small bars are often found on v6 cars.

950lb/in springs may seem high compared to a coil over setup, but the installation ratio is really low on these cars. On my STS miata I ran 700lb (same as spec miata) front springs, to get the same sprung mass frequency(2.58hz) on my trans am I would need ~2900lb/in springs. My front springs are around 1350lb/in on my car, and will probably only go up. Running 315/30R18 A6's all around for the first round of testing but will be going to 335/30R18's and 345/35R18's in back.
You may also want to investigate putting together a splined (speedway) front bar. In lieu of that I'm planning on shortening the arms on my 36mm front by an inch or so and running rod ends to the front web of the a-arm for easier corner weighting.
