Spohn sway bar set better than WS6?
Spohn sway bar set better than WS6?
http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...rome-Moly.html
I installed the front one years ago because my original was bent from an accident. The rear is still wrapped in the plastic as it came from Spohn.
I've read a couple comments though that mention the rear is no better than the factory WS6 sway bar.
Is it worth installing or just leave my WS6 sway bar? As you can see in the picture even my factory urethane bushings are still great.
If it's worth it I'll do it, otherwise I'll just sell it...
Thanks!

Keep your and use new bushings and endlinks

OK. I actually have a set of PST polygraphite stuff for that. I guess I'll list it up for sale then.
Is the factory sway bar equal or better?

FWIW, their ad says that they're better. They say that they are made of heat treated chrome moly but I doubt you would notice any difference because of that, especially if they're the same diameter. I thought that chrome moly was more brittle so I'm not sure why they're using that?
I checked my after-market set (don't recall the brand off hand) and the rear bar is larger than one that came with an (IROC/WS6/F41) 34mm front bar set.
That said, people usually only care about the front bar so you'd have a better chance of selling the new bar with the bushings. I'm not sure if what you get for the rear bar would be worth not having a matched set with less miles on it.

They are like a spring so they technically fatigue over time. I doubt it would be anything you'd notice though. I just don't think the value of selling the new one would be worth it. If you can get say $100 to offset the cost, and you don't notice the difference in performance then yeah it might be worthwhile.

Re: Spohn sway bar set better than WS6?
That's 36mm hollow/24 solid (all the rears are solid that I know of), I had an early WS6 car with a 32mm solid/24mm, one came with a 36mm hollow/19mm and my current one came with a 36hollow/24mm. I've also seen 34hollow/24 (TTA that was a WS6 car).
They don't really wear out, they don't really see enough bending to wear out unless they are damaged in an accident, jacking or other abuse.
I might be interested in the 1" rear bar but it's not really worth more separate than a factory 25mm (which is not _that_ common).
