How many wheel chocks

Howdy all,
So I just received my Amazon packages and I will be darned if the wheel chocks that I order were only sold as a single. I have always used a 4x4 piece of wood in he past. So I would like to know, how many of you use a single wheel chock?

Re: How many wheel chocks

Depends upon what I am doing. It guess it is about 50/50 between using one and using two. If I'm lifting a single corner then one is usually enough. Lifting an entire end or side, most definitely I use two.

This also depends upon the surface and the slope of the surface the car is on.

RBob.

Re: How many wheel chocks

Depends on what I'm doing. If Im doing brake work on the rear, then two, if not just one with the ebrake on.

Re: How many wheel chocks

if i jack up the front, I'll use wheel chocks on the front of the rear wheels, and 2x4's behind.. This way there is zero front to back movement.

One 4X4, about 5" long will make 2 perfect triangular wheel chocks when split corner-to-corner along the grain with an axe. I find that wood grips a rubber tire better than any other material.

Depending on which end/corner is being jacked up, I usually use just 2 chocks front and rear on the same tire that's staying on the ground.
