Detroit Speed

Detroit Speed is offering parts for thirdgens now. Does anybody have any of their parts? Are they worth the price?

Re: Detroit Speed

Detroit is a top name in their field. Prices are high but you wouldn't be disappointed. I believe you can build just as good of suspension for less money with other brands. Using DSE, you'd have all matching parts which is nice and looks cool but if you mix and match other brands you can save some cash for the same results.

Re: Detroit Speed

Thats what I thought. I want to rebuild the suspension with more performance but, I'm putting a focus more on street performance than all out race performance.

The big benefit would be matching parts from one place and less mixing and matching parts.

Re: Detroit Speed

Kyle put the Caster/Camber plate in my hands at Road America last August. A quality piece! It's on my list once RideTech comes out with a strut for us.

Their a-arms with weight jack is neat and reversible! I already went a similar way, but not reversible.

Bars, control arms, brackets, springs can be had anywhere.

Re: Detroit Speed

I have ground control weight jacks already with hotpart.com strut mounts but I really want those DSE C/C plates! Soooooo expensive though!!!

Re: Detroit Speed

My only real issue with their weight jack / caster camber plate compared to the weight jacks available from Ground Control is the lack of choice in the spring rate. Definitely a well designed well built piece from Detroit Speed but there are nice things about the other option as well.

You can't go wrong with their parts but depending on what you plan to do with the car, there might be less expensive options.

Re: Detroit Speed

You guys made good points. For what I'm doing with my car probably don't need all of the detroit speed parts. They are high quality and are expensive. I'd like a good driving daily driver type car that handles better overall. I'm not autocross racing but I do like to go on local backroads in the hills.
