Sway Bar!

When I turn the steering wheel completely and drive the car, it just jumps and jerks as if its hitting a bump!! and also it slows down as if the tire is rubbing against the body it also also makes somekind of sound as if some metal piece is hitting at the body, So I just looked at the bushings and sway bar and they seem to be quite in shape but the sway bar looks like it has a slight bend, looks like its been hit with a rock and on the right side I noticed that may be the swaybar end link is rubbing against the body sometimes as I noticed some scuff marks on the body ! This car has about 47k something and its 92 305 TBI. Does changing the Sway Bar End bushings help to solve the problem? and is it better if I get a bigger or say Thicker SwayBar from a similar year Z28?? I presume they have bigger or beefier Suspension components.. Help Appreciated.

well, mine does the samething, I always wondered about it, I put new bushing in the front sway bar a few days ago. the only thing it changed is that my font end is quiter now. at full turn it still jumps around and makes that banging noise, I think it is just the way it is, of course I know jack about suspension, so I'm not sure, I just wanted to reply to make you feel good

Thanks Vic, My Camaro has almost the same mods as yours except for someother things like Ultimate TBI Mods but Minus the After market plug wires!! Im thinking that I need to change the front sway bar!! Oh well I would get a new front sway bar for my Baby and also after market Suspenesion Components like springs and struts and shock absorbers I guess that would solve the problem! anwyay Thanks for your reply and I appreciate your concern for a fellow Thirdgenner!! what I need is a trouble free Third gen and Im not looking for Monsterous or tarmac eating Super car handling, If I need em I would try em on my Ninja

For Vic

Hey Brother go for a LS1, They arent that expensive either!! and Infact they are so fast that they can keep up with Mitsubishi 3000 GT{ I used to own one and they are fast as hell and handle like really good}, If anyone says that they are faster than a VR-4 they are bull****ing but LS1 's are fast almost as fast but not comparable in handling and Braking I mean in stock form!! Oh well if you talk about Mods there are some Jap cars which Produce 700+hp but still good for road use like the Skyline or the same ol Corvette rivals like 3000GT o r 300ZXTT or RX7!!

yes, but lets twin turbo the LS1 and add the same amount of money to that.....bingo MUCH FASTER THEN THE JAP CARS. now you are going to say about the Jap cars being cheaper to start with....well yeah....they are chintsy, interior and exterior. They just do not compare to the 'vette on anything but power.

if I kept my car I'm gonna get iroc sway bars, and would be more than happy to sell you my stock ones for little or nothing (they arent bent), you probably want to upgrade, but you never know.
