brake pad recommendations?

I'm gonna be putting in a new set of brake pads up front pretty soon, and I was wondering what pads you guys are using. I have the piece of **** autozone pads (the $15 ones), and they are horrible. Lots of brake dust, they move inside the caliper, and they squeal. Any recommendations? What should I or shouldn't I get?

I just purchased a set of Peformance Friction pads from autozone. Z rated, good pads. Thats what happens when you try to save a couple bucks, Pretty much any high rated pad will have all the characteristics your looking for no noise, better stopping, less brake dust, so on.

I think i heard that the performance friction pads didn't brake too good when cold but where pretty good when they warmed up. Is this right? How much were they by the way?

Performance Friction pads have worked great for me in any weather, and they don't squeal at all. Definitely worth $40.

My Perf Friction pads are terrible when cold. Work great after a few miles of driving though.

Ditto on the perf frictions, 1st couple stops of the day were unique, after the pads were warm they improved. I chenged from those to Quiet Stop by Raybestos. They are the quietest, cleanest brake pads I've had. Keep in mind that a panic stop from 75 isn't going to be pretty, due to brake fadem, but normal stuff the pads are good. Not having to rinse the crud off the wheels pays for the pads in the first week.

Good Luck!

How bad are the perf. friction when they are cold? You shouldn't drive your car bad, or just enough to notice? I would love to get them because from what I hear, they are awesome, but I want to be able to stop when they are cold.

There must not be that much of a difference, because I never noticed any change.

PF pads did not work for me cold or warm or hot. I had to yank them out after 2 months.

I was running PFC Z rated and whilst they were a bit iffy when cold, they were fantastic when warm or hot.Just recently Ive fitted EBC Greenstuff, which are superb from cold but i havent had time to try them when really hot,but so far they seem really good for general driving
cheers

Has anybody tried the ceramic pads? I'm thinking of getting at the fronts because the dust is killing me for cleaning these wheels. I'll probably leave the stock pads out back so I can hold the boost on the starting line.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
